Mark Packer of ACC PM just said what I said a couple of times...
The committee lied for 2 weeks when they told us that Florida State was 4th after they knew Jordan Travis would not be available for the CFP.
Or they lied yesterday.

They probably didnt even get to that stage until the end. 2 weeks? No. Nice conspiracy theory. They were letting it sort out. FSU puts 45 on Lousiville and looked good and they were in.

I believe in Clemson. I am a 98.5%. Just not a FSU believer at the moment.

Lousiville sucks and everyone knows that. On the other hand Oklahoma State might be worse. They lost 45-3 to UCF. Hard to say.

Should have been played. Any fool could see that Texas and FSU were clearly the better teams. Is that how it works?

They lied and just making crap up as they go. They choose the outcome and then justify their lies.

Exactly. Can you imagine if they dropped them, then they destroy UF and Lou?? They’d have a much bigger mess to sort out. They were giving FSU a chance to show they were still a worthy team, and they failed to do so.

Do you really believe they were going to leave SEC champ Bama out?

They thought it would look worse to have Bama jump Texas, than to have Bama & Texas jump FSU!

Exactly. Plan was to get Bama in period. Harder to justify leaving FSU in and putting Bama over Texas since they lost head to head. So they created the narrative that FSU couldn’t possibly win without Travis so they could get both Bama and TX in.

They won - isn't that the objective. Totally shut down Louisville, didn't need any more offense.

Alright, if you want to go by a 2 game sample size Rodemaker only played in 2 games and had 351 yards. Is that enough? It's like people missed the fact FSU beat the 14th placed team by 10 points with a 3rd string QB. And was passed by 2 teams.

including 17 in the 4th quarter, which is one more point than FSU scored in the entire game, including the gifted FG

So what? They didn’t lose a game all year. There’s no guarantee they couldn’t win again. Wins and losses no longer matter. Let’s just speculate who we think will win without the trouble of playing the game.

I think they’re pretty happy the way it worked out. The last thing they wanted was Mich pounding FSU by 4 TDs.

That way, UGA and Bama would have gotten in, along with Washington and FSU!

Eat what you kill!
Bama killed more and brought more food to the table. So they got one of the four chairs at the dinner table.
FSU just did not kill it. They showed up for the dinner party without as much meat, wounded and were therefore not offered one of the four chairs.
If you say that the committee does not have the right to make a subjective decision, you need to look at the CFP Committee website and look at their principles.
If you think the committee took something from FSU, you are soft and probably support participation trophies.
The committee was given a mandate to make subjective decisions, they did that and did it well.

And therein lies the problem! Too much subjectivity was allowed by the committee

This is something I have said for years...it should have never been "four best teams" and the biggest farce of all, the "eye test"! It should have been the four most deserving teams, starting with...did you win your CCG? Then, what was your overall record?
In this four team playoff era, no undefeated conference champ should have ever been left out, unless there were five undefeated conference champs! Only then would the committee's biased subjectivity have to come into play!

The committee got it right.
Florida State will not be getting a participation trophy this year.
