but I feel like the whole story isn't out there. I'm not one to seek justification for things like this, but honestly looking at the tape, it's strange that the video is of a cell phone playing the video, and it cuts out.
She keeps saying it's on Facebook Live. Facebook live is typically a continuous shot.

Obviously, the reaction by the police chief was to quell the protest. It appears the video might have missing footage in the middle between the cop's arrival and the violence. I'm not defending the cop either but we all know cops are charged with controlling a scene by taking charge.
A good cop will not be intimidated and a smart cop won't allow anyone to step in within reach of him without his invitation. Stepping up on a cop threatens his authority to control a situation and is treated as a threat. Raising a hand to him is often treated as assault which is fair, imo.
Being stupid and thinking you can 'make,' a cop do what you want to do is stupid. America has a ton of stupid people who think they can usurp police authority.
It's likely, had everyone behaved as civilized beings the guy who laid hands on the child would have gone to jail. Unfortunately, none of us will ever know. Seems as if the guy who grabbed the child may have been arrested had those who complained remained calm and reasonable.
Raising your voice to a cop never turns out good for you.

Some people just like to villify cops before they have all the information. They will take false information and run with it if it meets their agenda.
See "hands up dont shoot" and "he was holding a bible" as prime examples of this.

With everything else going in America between police and African Americans, her seeing her mother and sister getting arrested for being upset that the cop didn't say anything to the guy, but instead chose to question the mother and eventually takes her to jail, I see why and have no problem with her words. This cop single handily pushed the division further between himself and his fellow officers and the black community in Fort Worth. Instead of doing the right thing he chose to show why there is a lack respect coming from African Americans not just in FW, but across America.
If he would've done the right thing, this video wouldn't be published by multiple media outlets and we wouldn't be here talking about the situation now. Everyone wants change but you know who it starts with? The men that wear the badges.

Talk to the guy. Get his input on what happened, he doesn't say 1 word to the man... Don't take him to jail because there is no evidence of him physically touching the little kid. Get stories from both sides and come up with an conclusion. Don't escalade the situation like the SOB did.

Did you hear what kind of questions he asked or did you not watch the video?
He had his mind made up from the jump! The girl had her back turned and tried to get her mother away before this SOB decides to escalate the situation, he immediately grabs the her and takes her down....
I've seen comments on other websites everyone says the cop was wrong... Even seen 1 person who admitted he's a cop apologist say that the cop was wrong...
But it's hard for you guys to come out and say he was wrong. Why is that the case???

I don't feel guilty about that because I've found raising one's voice usually ends with the focus of their words hearing only their tone, almost never the meaning of their words. I insisted over and over that the investigation would need to be completed before I would deliberate on the situation. Your problem with me is that I don't react the same as you to a situation about which I may not have all the facts. Persecuting me for being reasonable and objective is not helping your argument.
From my experience, there is no relationship between being right and the volume of the voice. Imo, if you want to go to jail and not pass go nor collect 200 dollars the quickest path is to raise your voice to a cop. Shouting can be considered to be a violation of the law. It's called 'disturbing the peace.'

No one here attempted to vindicate the cop. We were explaining the reasons to not crucify him. Let the investigation play out before you convict someone in public opinion. That is exactly what you'd want were you put in the spotlight in such a high profile situation.
