Clemson Baseball: Looking Back and Looking Forward

There appear to be plenty of reasons for optimism in looking to the future of this program. Looking back to the covid halted year and then going forward:

The 2020 NCAA baseball season was halted in March due to Covid. Since then, Monte Lee coached his last two seasons at Clemson and Erik Bakich has coached his first two seasons at Clemson. During that time, you gotta love how the progression this program has shown:

2021: Losing Record (First time in decades)
2022: Winning Record – but no NCAA Tournament
2023: Winning Record, NCAA Tournament bid, Lost in Regional
2024: Winning Record, NCAA Tournament bid, Won Regional, Lost in Super Regional

2025: TBA (But following this trend line…)

It is obvious what the step would be if Clemson Baseball were to continue progressing along this same path.

Here’s hoping Clemson maintains this trend and takes the next step!

We are trending up with Bakich***

Bakich is a very good coach, i think FSU and clemson made home run hires with Bakich and Link Jarret.

Only thing i'd like to see improve is pitching, clemson is really hard to beat as is, but i think some better pitching will be the final piece.

Teams can always use better pitching so I agree. I also feel we left way too many runners on base, therefore we could use some better clutch hitting. My 2 cents.

Even with the horrible umpiring this weekend, men left on base were the catalyst to our undoing. We could have put both those games out of reach early with a couple of timely hits.
