the add to the BS talk, Much Better Morris Than Venables

Oct 16, 2015, 11:23 PM

our offense is fine. Dabo is an offensive mind, ultimate coach and CEO. He gave Chad Morris the vehickle to drive. Watkins, Hopkins, Bryant, Ellington, Boyd.... anyone reading this could've won with that line up. I will argue that Scoot and Elliot are earning their keep developing players after Williams went down. We will see better RB development now that Terry Allen is here. But make no mistake, our D staff is the best in the nation, starting with Venables, but Hobby, Brooks, and Reed are all the real deal. Venables leaving is what will hurt. Morris cam go to SCar all he wants. He will be coaching QBs at MTSU in 5 years if he does

I agree. I know if I was looking for a HC, Venables would be on top of my list.

Not sure Venables is an HC yet. He's a defensive genius, and as such knows what makes an offense work, but I believe he's happy right now perfecting his genius and proving it. Maybe in a few years and after an NC or two, he'll assume the role as "CEO" of a top program. Like many Tiger fans, I like to fantasize a future where Dabo and Brent just keeping on doing what they're doing for another ten years at Clemson. And I like to think that Dabo sees himself - and actually wants to be - the "Bear Bryant" of his own great program, i.e.: Clemson University.

As far as Chad Morris goes - he's gone. He did a terrific job at Clemson while he was here, but he's gone. He elected to leave Clemson, to leave the Tigers and a winning program he greatly contributed to and... he's gone. That means he's no longer here and no longer part of the Clemson Tiger football program. He willfully walked away. And with all due respect, why does any tiger fan give a rat's a$$ where he goes or what happens to him? He will forever be nothing but a minor footnote in Clemson Football history. The footnote notwithstanding, wish him luck for old time's sake and forget about him.
