Remaining:
Wake at Home
At Syracuse

Maybe SU might get them?

SU 6-3, 3-3 in the ACC... most importantly 4-1 at home.

Wins against Gtech, UNLV (#25), NCSU, VTech, Ohio, Holy Cross
Losses afaints BC, Stanford, Pitt

The ACC refs gifted them both the Cal and VT games.***

Syracuse can keep up offensively but the defense will have to get turnovers for SU to win. My question is if UVA beats SMU. Does that not equal the out UL loss. If Louisville loses another game and matches UVA record for the year

Clemson is currently 2nd in the ACC standings..

behind SMU. Miami is currently third.

Clemson only has one conference game remaining (Pitt) while Miami has two (Wake and Syracuse). If both teams win out, Miami would hold the tiebreaker because of records against common opponents (Miami beat Louisville while Clemson...well...didn't).

SMU, on the other hand, has three conference games remaining (BC, Virginia and Cal). The Mustangs could lose to Boston College or Cal and still make the ACC title game over Clemson because they would be 5-0 among common opponents with Clemson, while the Tigers would be 4-1, again, because of the Louisville loss. If SMU lost to Virginia (also a common opponent), Clemson and SMU would both be 4-1 among common opponents, but the Mustangs would likely still have the edge because of their win over Louisville.

The ACC tiebreaker policy dictates that if two teams have the same winning percentage against common opponents, the next step to break the tie is ranking those common opponents by order of finish in the ACC and going one by one from best to worst. This rewards which team won against the better common opponent.

Bottom line, Clemson has to beat Pitt (PERIOD) and then we'll need some help from the remaining opponents of either Miami or SMU (i.e., one loss by Miami and two losses by SMU) which is what happens when you mail it in and don't take care of your own business. You no longer control you own destiny and we have no one to blame for that but ourselves.

it was ESPN's already anointed Heisman winner who's fumble cost them a chance late in the game.
