Trade L’ville to the B12 in exchange for WVU. James Madison actually has a higher enrollment than Clemson and has won the FCS Championship twice before moving up to the Sunbelt. YUGE following in the DC area and New Jersey for JMU.
Navy is Navy and people say it’s prestigious to have a Sevice Academy in your Conference
As for WVU, the ACC messed up big time not letting WVU in initially. I remember those times “ not up to our high academic standards …. “. Yeah right, so when Maryland left they grab L’ville. L’ville is not full of rocket scientists either. WVU has a med school, a law school, engineering etc. It’s the only school in WVU that has this. There is a saying at WVU, easy to get in, hard to stay.

Marshall has engineering and medical schools and there was a proposal last year to add a law school but I don't think it passed for some reason.

If money is no object, add James Madison and App State. Both are 20L+ enrollment. Both could improve to competitive level quick.

Now, that's a GREAT idea ! I like App State. I have been to Boone and its a cool town, better than Asheville now I think. Rains a lot though ...
Regardless, I like App State better than Navy too ... and thanks for the suggestion.
So App State and James Madison it is.

If by adding Navy, we could secure Notre Dame as full member, then do it. If not, then pass on Navy as conference member even though I have the utmost respect for the Service Academies. Grew up in Harrisonburg - JMU is intriguing but probably needs a few more years at FBS level before offering - I wouldn't be suprised to see App State, East Carolina, JMU, probaly one or more of the directional Florida schools join whats left of the "ACC" when all the big programs depart for the big money
