The 9 game ACC sched may be coming....

partial C & P...
If a nine-game ACC schedule comes to pass, it may not happen for reasons of schedule balance or to satiate fans’ desire to see more cross-divisional teams. Naturally, the impetus could be ESPN. At the board of trustees meeting for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association last Thursday, athletic director Mike Bobinski shared an update about scheduling discussions among officials at the ACC member schools and brought up ESPN’s possible influence. At the conference’s meetings this week, the conference and ESPN are expected to have an update on where things stand in regards to a possible ACC channel. Should it go forward, Bobinski said, ESPN will likely want more “inventory” to put on the channel, meaning an additional conference game.

All teams in the ACC will play each other AT LEAST every other year.
Each team will play round robin in their division, then two of the teams shown in (parenthesis) on a yearly rotation.
Atlantic odd years - 2015, 2017, 2019 etc. VA Tech (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) UVA (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) Syracuse (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) Boston (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) Clemson (FSU, L-Ville, and Pitt) GT (FSU, L-Ville, and Pitt) Miami (FSU, L-Ville, and Pitt)
Coastal odd years - 2015, 2017, 2019 etc. UNC (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) NCST (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) Duke (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) Wake (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) FSU (Clemson, GT, Miami) L-Ville (Clemson, GT, Miami) Pitt (Clemson, GT, Miami)
Atlantic even years - 2016, 2018, 2020 etc. VA Tech (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) UVA (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) Syracuse (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) Boston (UNC, NCST, Duke, and Wake) FSU (Clemson, GT, Miami) L-Ville (Clemson, GT, Miami) Pitt (Clemson, GT, Miami)
Coastal even years - 2016, 2018, 2020 etc. UNC (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) NCST (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) Duke (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) Wake (VA Tech, UVA, Syracuse, Boston) Clemson (FSU, L-Ville, and Pitt) GT (FSU, L-Ville, and Pitt) Miami (FSU, L-Ville, and Pitt)
Clemson will play Georgia Tech and Miami every year. Clemson will play FSU, L-Ville, and Pitt twice every three years.

exactly right. there are plenty of games. show some OOC matchups. Clearly 8 games is the max the ACC can sch without dragging the sch out for months. Learn Swoffs capability and dont over tax him

your point is a good one. if the ESPN football gods ever treated us like a valid conference it might be something to consider but as long as the SEC love fest continues ESPN should take a hike.

Would it force the Coastal division to field competitive teams. What a train wreck that group has become!

Say NO to 9 game conference schedules.

Some of us like our non-conference (AU, UGA, A&M, TCU, LSU) games better. Since conferences rammed expansions down our throats for money, I think 8 games and a championship game is enough.
Some of us programs have a potential play-off to be focused on.
