Every time someone questions the direction of the program, the same straw man appears. “You want to fire our two-time national championship coach!” Nobody said that. We want him to evolve.
Clemson fans are frustrated because the program has stopped adapting. The portal is ignored, staff positions go to friends instead of proven talent, and we keep pretending that what worked in 2018 still works today.
Nobody is calling for his job. We are calling for leadership that recognizes change instead of resisting it. That is not disloyalty. That is wanting Clemson to compete again.
The pumpers can keep clapping for the past. The rest of us would rather see Clemson prepared for the future.

I agree with PBT. Big dog is probably a Georgia troll The others are from last Saturday/Sunday when people have had too much to drink. So yes, technically there's been posts on fire Dabo. A lot are like fire Batson. Care to take a gander at how many "serious " posts that said fire Brad. Those were real.
Very Very few posts have said fire Dabo when it was not GameDay. One you referenced was two months ago. Probably posted after tech game or maybe halftime at Troy game. Sorry, but I disregard anything that's posted during the game.
But even the GameDay and trolls, there's not many. But it's portrayed as if it's a widespread. The only thing that's widespread is the posts talking about it.

The irony in all of it is that I do like him as a poster.
However, he fought me on RB recruitment and he was wrong. He fought me on LB and DE recruitment as well and was wrong.
I don’t expect him to dig up old posts and be offering me up an apology anytime soon though.

Saw a guy on TV giving a talk at the Sumter Touchdown Club but I didn't catch his name or his title when he was introduced. He seemed to know a lot of things about Clemson and he basically said we would have a new OC next year along with 2 or 3 other new coaches. I wish I had caught who he was but he seemed to have a lot of inside info.

I 100% want to fire Dabo. I wanted him to evolve four years ago when I first started talking about this. I do not believe he is willing or able to do so. I don't think he'd fire his children or his friends unless he had 0 option otherwise. I think he's become very arrogant and surrounded himself with sycophants. He doesn't like anyone disagreeing with him, evidenced by his refusing to take calls after Tyler from Spartanburg. I think he's too far gone, that we've watched for five years as the program degraded, and I want to give the position to someone more capable of coaching in today's game before Clemson is completely destroyed.

Ok let’s assume you are the billionaire who can pay the $100M + it would take to fire the current staff and hire a new one. There are 2 active coaches beside Dabo that have won national championships; Kirby smart and Ryan day. Which of those 2 do we want to go after?

To be fair, there are probably better coaches that haven't one titles. Situations do matter. How many would Ryan Day have won if he has been at Oregon State or Wake Forest all of these years? There really is no telling who the very best coaches are. Some may go unnoticed or are underappreciated.

Why are we limited to Ryan Day and Kirby Smart? Is that in the bylaws somewhere?
I would cast a wide net. I don't know how in-demand our job still is. My ideal goal would be to pick someone we could pay much less for, and then convert that extra salary into NIL. Coaches aren't worth $12 million a year any more, and it's why many coaches are taking pay cuts to help fund players. My dream coach would be Kellen Moore, who is a real gameday coach who really understands football and players love. He makes around $5-6 million. We could offer him a bit more and use the rest to fund an elite QB.

And even if you count this bad year as one of those 5 years, his record is 43-19, for a win % >69%, with an 11 win season, 2 10 win seasons, and a 9 win season.
Try being rational rather than being emotional. Nobody thought Dabo would last this long or win a national championship at Clemson, much less 2, and he has been a top 5 winningest coach for years now. And yet you don't think he can overcome our current situation as he has all the other obstacles to unprecedented success? Clear recency bias.

I hope Josh Pate with On3 is wrong about his opinions regarding the future of Clemson Football. With the radical changes in college athletics, especially the changes in football may make it impossible for Dabo or any HC at Clemson to recruit at the same level before NIL, Revenue Sharing and the TP.
Can fans accept a DF like Decade of wins and losses. Or do we now have higher expectations based on Dabo’s past success and the fact we now have 12 spots in the CFP’s.
How would fans feel if we are never able to reach the level of greatness Dabo brought the Clemson Tigers to during the 20teens decade ??? Going forward will Clemson fans feel that Clemson had a successful season with 10 wins and an upper tier BG ??? What are your expectations for the future of Clemson Football ???
Dabo and his staff has received a lot of the blame for Clemson’s fall from the top. Their lack of recruiting success much like the pre-NIL talent. Dabo’s refusal to use the TP enough. B Unfortunately there are many outside forces that has negatively impacted Clemson Football. Sources beyond Clemson’s and Dabo’s control.
I believe the noticeable cracks began to appear in the program when BV a once in a lifetime DC left for Oklahoma, NIL was implemented, and players could use the TP for to seek bigger paydays.
The outside factors that are currently affecting Clemson’s lack of success are from sources which includes State legislators and corrupt judges who pushed NIL into college athletics new pay for play system. I blame the gutless NCAA for allowing college athletics to reach the current level of chaos. ESPN is responsible as well for helping to build the SEC and the Big10 into the two big 💰💰💰💰💰 conferences. Paying those two conferences twice as much in TV revenue has made it difficult on conferences like the ACC and Big12 to compete at the same level.
The new are of college football has even had an impact on Brent V who is struggling at at Oklahoma once a top program to reach the 12 team CFP’s. Other programs have been affected too by the new age of pay for play college football. Some of those teams are Nebraska, Texas, ND, Penn State , Florida, FSU, Miami and others. The smaller schools like Wofford, Furman, SC State, and Coastal Carolina will be financially affected.
Whoever is pulling the strings at the highest level may have accomplished their goal of parity in college football or the destruction of college football, much like the NFL. College Football is Deceased as many of us know it and grew up with. It’s really sad to see something once a great part of life killed off by Greed 💰.
We should be grateful for the Elite Success Dabo brought to Clemson. At least we reached a level some programs will never realize.
I hope we don’t become an LSU, Auburn, FSU, Florida or other programs who are consistently firing and hiring coaches every 3 to 5 years. Looking for those glory days again.
IMO all we can do is to give Dabo and Clemson Football all of our support and hope that he can come close to replacing BV’s. Hope that Dabo can recruit Elite level talent or find Elite talent in the TP. Then develop that talent as best as possible under the now pay for play Free Agency football.
Just be thankful your were not born into a Gamecock family are did become a coot fan. Then you could be like most coot fans who get so excited about 6 or 7 win seasons and Second or Third tier BG’s.
I really hope Josh Pate is way off base and I would like nothing better than for Tigernet members to be able to remind me of how wrong I was about the future of Clemson Football. 🐅🐅
We can thank former UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon aka the father of NIL for today’s pay for play aka college sports. His 2009 lawsuit and the greedy attorneys is the biggest reason for NIL we owe O’Bannon and his attorneys so Little 🤬🤬🤬.

A few came out and said they want him fired in this thread. And if you count all the folks who have called for him to leave but don’t want to pay the buyout or call for him to just walk away the number goes up significantly. When you include the large group that says they want him to leave if he won’t run the program the way they want it run, now you have a crowd. We know reality doesn’t exist for many on here so they qualify their comments with the ever protective “ifs and buts”.

Don't think I am in favor of firing him but there are some changes that he should required to implement: * Take some executive level leadership training. This season has shown he's a little in over his head. His inability to adapt to change NIL & transfer portal has caught up with him. His DC publicly blaming coaches & players is unacceptable and shouldn't be happening. As the Head Coach you accept ALL BLAME. That is leadership. Learn to embrace change because change is inevitable. Yes accepting the blame will hurt and make you angry. That's what comes with leading. You can't get emotional and allow your feelings to get the best of you which lead to the idiotic comments. * Hire a media consultant. His continous verbal gaffes are harmful. Words have consequences. The " when they start paying players I"ll leave " and " If they tired of winning, I'll go someplace " type of comments are immature and foolish. They hurt the program, the brand and recruiting efforts more than they help. * Get rid of the " Friends and Family Plan " as it pertains to coachimg hires and recruiting players. * Evaluate the past & present performance of all position coaches. Use a metric to include # of all conference selections for position group, how many players from the position group have been drafted over a period years. Examine if each position coach has demonstrated proven ability to identify, recruit and develop players. These are not drastic changes but they are needed if the intention is to keep the program competitive in the years to come.
