I am for the NFL Players making as much as they can

but I believe there still has to be some resemblance of structure.
I do believe the owners should get more than 50% of the revenue because simply, they own it. They own the stadium, they own the team, and by paying them they own the players. Not to mention they have to pay all the overhead for running the stadium such as power and grounds maintenance.
If everything went 50/50 this hierarchy would not exist and then you have would have a tremendous power struggle.
The owners are called "owners" for a reason.

does!
Bill Gates and Paul Allen, owners of the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers paid for there stadium to be built. So they are one set of owners I know of.

I know the owners are greedy SOBs but like you said they are the owners. What right do the players have to say they need to get a bigger slice of the pie. If any average joe went to their company's owner and said hey we deserve a bigger slice of the pie they would be flat out told no and they would have no recourse.
Now if they want to talk about the number of games, rookie pay structure, health insurance after retirement. Ok I can buy those arguments

If my understanding of the situation is correct, the players are not asking for a bigger slice of the pie. The owners are asking for a rollback of the percentage of revenues the players received in the previous CBA. I believe the players would be willing to give some back, but it's the amount that is in dispute.
Normally, when there is a management-labor dispute in professional sports, I'm solidly on the side of management. In this situation, I'm not so sure.

I think the owners want to go to an 18 game schedule to increase total revenue and the players would get more too, but perhaps less a percentage.
Have not paid too much attention to it. If they play I will watch the night games, if not, I will do something else.
Richardson is the biggest Hawks for locking out the players and he makes me want to pull for the players. He is complete slime, a liar and a cheat.

I will never get past the fact that he lied about the location of the stadium in order gain the political support of Hollings and Thurmond when he was seeking to get the franchise. He pretended like he was willing to build the stadium on the border between the two states, when he knew all along that he was going to put the stadium in downtown Charlotte. While I appreciate what he did for Wofford, the man is nothing more than a liar.

I think the owners should try to get what they can and the players should try to get what they can. Supply and demand works... no need to mess with it.

Either they'll come to an agreement before the season starts, or the owners will lock the players out and the players union will cave and go back with concessions made.
Most of the owners are businessmen and they have plenty in the bank to hold them over for a while. They also have other businesses which make them money while their team sits in limbo.
Having known a couple professional athletes, you'd be shocked to find out how many of them essentially live paycheck to paycheck. They have no concept of money (most notably taxes), and once their lifestyles are impacted they'll do whatever they can to get back on the field to make money again.
