Take the TOP 64 and blow up conferences as we know them

Split these 64 into 2 divisions or 4 pods, I don't care. You could then have 'semi-finals' or a championship game that lead into the PLAYOFFS.

Some issues to consider though:

What if teams like Alabama & LSU or Texas & Oklahoma end up in the same group and one gets excluded?

What about teams such as Duke who are a Top 5 in BB, but Top 125 in FB...do they get excluded??

There may need to be a 3rd level or Division I to consider or more BB only conferences (Big East).

We will end up with 8, 8 team conferences. The winner of each will go to a playoff.

Face it, even with conference realingment, there aren't 64 teams that really want to play big boy football. Clemson does. We will not get left behind simply because of that.

bolt the ACC for the Big 12, chances are there will be another re-alignment in 5-10 years anyway. And the additional $3-$4 million per year over ten years.....but heck, I'm sick of using logic to argue with ACC homers.
