Hunter Renfrow was a 2 star player and look how he turned out. It doesn't matter what star you are. I've seen a lot of 5 star players worse than 2 star players. Stars don't mean anything. Its how you coach a player to play like a 5 star player.

Rex Ryan's nephew doesn't need a scholarship. The Ryan family is doing well enough to write a check for out-of-state tuition at Clemson without blinking.
He wants to come to Clemson and we've given him a spot on the team without burning a scholarship.
Good move.
This is different from offering the kids of the Clemson coaching staff. For example, D.J. Greenlee looked like a questionable offer of a scholarship. But calling him a "walk on" while the athletics department is paying his dad isn't going to fly with the NCAA. It's not nepotism—either he gets counted as a scholly or he doesn't play for Clemson.

Dad got fired as a DC. . However if having him as a walk on gives clemson a few more good nfl connections that'll only help everyone else and will benefit future recruiting
