Serious question!

I often read on Tnet and EVERY forum that our offensive coordinator called a “vanilla “ game to prevent having things on tape for future teams to scheme against. My question is——- the plays we currently run are on tape, so why the vanilla play calling? There are certainly several years worth of tape on the plays we are currently running, and those seem to get blown up. The air raid is predicated on not giving a dang about what the defense does or doesn’t do! That is what most of us thought we would see this year. I hope we eventually get to see more of that and less screens that get blown up due to lack of blocking,etc. I love my Tigers and want to see more offensive production. Here’s to hoping the team gets rested up and plays out of their minds the rest of the season! Go Tigers!

We didn't hold anything back from Wake. We just aren't a good offense.

If we are holding anything back it is because he believes we don't have the talent to execute it yet. This nonsense of saying it has to do with future competition is not real. For example, if we have some complicated plays that require the OL to hold their blocks a little longer, he may not feel it makes sense to use those right now.

I just think we are running most of his offense but if something is being held back there are reasons other than waiting to unleash them at a later date. I am sure there are some situational plays we may not have used yet but that would be about it.
