105 man roster I am sure this has been answered, but

Why is our class size so small? The 105 man roster goes into effect for the 2025/26 Academic year. we have 12 players graduating, and with 13 recruits, we are over the limit. Please help me understand How we could be over the limit if we are getting 30 more scholarships.…??

The 105 is not for depth because no team needs that many players at any level. Why the NCAA moved to 105 escapes me.

You increase the roster size and it helps when you have folks leave. Dabo has never been good at roster management and my hope was that at least Clemson would have some "warm bodies" to stick in, with a possibility of finding a diamond in the rough. The new roster limits start in 2025. I have no idea why we are not offering more players? I hope Dabo has a legitimate plan, and just does not convert every walk on to a scholly, which is my biggest fear. Right now I am just going to wait and see, but I don't trust this teams leadership any more.

and using roster size as a limitation as using # of scholarships as a limitation didn't pass the mustard from a legality standpoint. They had to set a roster # for all sports. It's great that baseball will all be on full rides instead of partials, but the fact they can't have any more partials or walkons is going to really hinder them from a scrimmaging and availability standpoint(especially pitching). I believe the baseball roster is 34 which is going to cause baseball coaches a new set of headaches vs the partial scholarship headache they previously had.

This 105 limit reminds me of what The Bear did at TAM and Bama. When there was no limit back then, he would sign players just to keep them from going to other schools. There will be certain players who will sign just to be a a particular school's roster.
Guessing, with the current transfer rolls and more players on each team, there will just be more and more players in that revolving door.

The reduction in overall numbers due to numbers needed for prep. I’m not sure I understand that thought as 140 on roster seems like ALOT of blocking dummies and cheerleaders not contributing much, but costing the program much for food, gear, healthcare, etc.

Because this additional 20 scholarships are ear marked for all the current walkons. Mark it down... Dabo will keep it quiet but that's what will happen

your turnover is going to be really high, every year. Nobody is going to be able to maintain 105 real scholarship guys who are all wanting playing time. This will be particularly exacerbated until the extra year for Covid drops off.

Walkons currently in the roster as our roster size is 15-20 over 105. There is no reason to have 105 on scholarship. The # was put in place as a roster limit vs scholarship as the other way wouldn’t have passed the lawsuit test.

How are teams (FSU, Clemson, Bama, UGA, OH ST, Oregon, etc.) going to go from 85 to 105 when it appears the HS limit will still be 25.

The average college football roster last year was 123 players with 85 scholarships. What going to 105 will do is schools can give up to 105 scholarships, but can't have over 105 players. what it will do is kill walk-ons and limit opportunities for kids to play college football.
Will also hurt the scout team badly.....
The only good thing I see out of it is you won't have 15 players as walk-ons that are long snappers, kickers and punters that are just sons or grandsons of powerful alumni that stand around all day at practice.
