BYOG: Clothing line to benefit All In Foundation introduced
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney grabbed the attention of the nation with his now-famous “Bring Your Own Guts” speech following the Tigers’ thrilling 24-22 win over Notre Dame last October, and that speech is now being memorialized in a line of clothing that will benefit Swinney’s All In Team Foundation. "melamb13" - u may want to stop commenting, immediately...you are only showing your complete ignorance to entrepreneurship, capitalism & the original story. Based on your comments, I think you'd be better off in a socialist society or possibly even communist. I would recommend you look into moving to Switzerland or possibly China. As is plainly stated in the story, Dabo & his agent liked, approved, supported and are also profiting from Dabo's BYOG slogan. Dabo and agent could have refused and let Mrs Swinney or Clemson run with the whole concept; but, they have plenty of bigger, better things to focus/work on! Just Chillax & remember, you live in America...the Land of Opportunity! Either realize that or GTFO! (And yes, you can have GTFO and market that)....now, shut up or go have some cheese with all that whine!

Careful there, orangeman, GTFO may actually have a wider market application in view of current global events and could go viral...you may be giving away the golden goose.

She's taking something that's solely pertains to Clemson and expanding the Clemson brand. It's brilliant. I don't blame her or anyone for doing it. It does nothing but promote the university and the football program. Which is awesome. Good for her.

Yes! Not a fan of someone that exploits the "off the cuff" line from Dabo for her own profit, The clothing line that throw a tidbit of profit to Dabo's charity. Grow up and see it for what it is! Can you not see the manipulation of the idea? Clemson fan or profiteer??? The later I believe, merely from the salesperson perspective. I guess it's okay for someone to profit from the ideas/statements of others as long as they are "true Clemson fans/alumns", huh?

Saying, this great statement should be ALL DaBO's..and since it's not he's being the nice guy that he is and smiling with grace.. that she's not a Coot!

Your comments make no sense. Dabo's agent filed the patent

Obviously, Dabo is profiting from this venture. He owns the rights to the intellectual property and if he wasn't on board, she wouldn't be able to use it. He doesn't have time to run a marketing and apparel business. This is a partnership that is mutually beneficial to both parties, as well as Dabo's Foundation. It's a business deal. She's not exploiting anything.

Dabo's agent applied for a trademark. He agreed through his attorney to the relationship between her line of clothing and the foundation. There was no exploitation. She identified an opportunity and entered into a legal agreement with the very person that coined the phrase: "Bring Your Own Guts" and "BYOG." Looks like a win-win situation for both parties.

some people have a problem with reading and comprehension. Lets break down the story in crayons so the slow can follow.
1. while watching an NFL game with Swinney's agent= They already know one another 2 Swinney's agent filed the slogan and the Brand 'BYOG' = a trademark and a patent for Swinney 3.Slogan and brand a portion of the profit goes to ALL In foundation an agreed upon amount in contract.= Money for cancer research. 4. Anything with a tiger paw trademark = Money for Clemson Athletics 5.Clemson's Brand Grows sales increase generates more funds for the University.
Now in turn all tax dollars generated from sales to help us pay the lazy socialist non working class!
A win for everybody

I bet her "longtime Clemson fan-hood" started about 5 minutes before she heard that quote.
Would have been nice to see a REAL FAN get a piece of this action over some California carpetbagger.

She went through Dabo's agent and didn't capitalize on the opportunity herself. Major props for people doing things the right way. She took initiative, got this going and now Dabo's foundation benefits as well. This is what makes America great. Applause to all involved.
P.S. One thumb down for her server. "Bandwith Exceeded" Give me a break.

I have no problem with the commercialization of BYOG, but...
I do have a problem with the people who designed the products.
I hope no one is being financially compensated for the poorly designed clothing.
