has given up on his players. its whether his players and supporters have given up on him. JMO but a Godless man has no place in God's country. Jack's done some good things for our baseball program. to ignore that is blind and dumb IMO. tommy Bowden laid a nice foundation as has Jack. it's time to get rid of mcclellan and call in grant. if you accept mediocrity you become mediocre. besides... when we start a war that we aren't even close to being ready to fight its hard for me to side with em. we were 10+ years of solid planning and construction away from being ready to fight that war. kinda like jumping on hatfield's and west's wagons. dang I love a good civil war discussion. too bad we were on the wrong side or morality and weaponry. the south had greatness written all over it had it had the right leadership. no solid allies, no advanced weapons, poor leadership(other than lee), and treating human beings as nothing more than machinery was a recipe for defeat all day long. god would never allow a group like that to succeed. ask rome. god bless the south. god forgive her flaws. and IMO the modern day US with her taxes and control is as close to being a modern day roman empire as their is on earth. the US has so many awesome qualities that it disturbs me to the core to see her ruined by corruption and corruption. ~

opportunity to work on those. just as you had an opportunity to correct yourself when you accused me of hijacking your thread.
oh wait, you're right, i hijacked your thread by commenting on grant who you originally brought up. what was i thinking?
no, no, you were wrong then as you are wrong now. it's ok though, it happens, but i have faith in the healing power of time and i think you should take as much as you need. hopefully, you'll look inward instead of outward because you'll find more answers there and even if you don't have faith in yourself to find the truth, know that i have faith in you to do so.
have a blessed night; i'll take a moment to remember you before i lay my head down.
cheers my man and good luck, hopefully the morrow goes better for you than this night; really, could it possibly go any worse?

stonewall jackson, jeb stuart, joseph johnston, james longstreet, richard ewell, braxton bragg and many more. do any of those ring a bell? and it is well documented that Lee wasn't the master tactician he is made out to be. he was good at running the logistical side of the army, whereas the generals I listed above were the ones out doing the fighting and making battle changing decisions. read "Rebel Yell" by SC Gwynn, it will give you a lot of insight on Stonewall Jackson. It also talks about the other generals and Jackson's unique relationship with Lee. I am a firm believer that had Stonewall Jackson not have died the war would have been completely different (we never should have invaded the North anyway). He was known as a guy who always won with less. his Valley campaign was a stroke of military genius, and he was always outnumbered at least 5:1. We may not have won the war, but maybe the North would have been forced to sued for peace.

and youre soo right about Jackson and a few of the others you listed. I shouldn't have left them out. still though, we lacked the technology, economy, and man power to win. never mind the moral high ground that I firmly believe in. also, the invasion of the north was absolute stupidity on lee's part IMO. what did he think 75,000 men would be able to do in the north? even if he won Gettysburg, he would have never been able to hold it. kinda reminds me of hitler trying to take the Moscow. even if you win the immediate battle the resistance will eventually wear your troops down and overtake you. hitler was a fool for his tactics as was lee for invading the north. Lee did a lot of smart things and some very big dumb things. I cant see any scenario where the south could win. if we fought the defensive tactics that we fought in Vietnam that was our best bet. and we still lose a war of attrition. like I said at the start...
it was another 10+ years of proper planning before the south was ready to fight the north. we needed to forge alliances with china, japan, England, Russia, etc,. build an economy based on cheap paid labor, rebuild our rail system, and pump tons of resources into our R+D of new weapons technology. its a complicated plan. also the south's navy needed major improvements to be ready to fight the north. we all gotta admit 1 thing though...
the United States it 1 tough foe when it comes to war. ask bin laden or Geronimo. dang were tough fighters. a war machine. it some sick way im proud of that. i'd be less proud of that if all of our enemies werent wanting to be us or overtake us. ~

Imo, players have given up on all the coaches.
What has JACK done for the program other than hire some good assistants and now has lousy ones. Wilhelm laid the foundation for Jack, then good assistants keep him in the game. You can not tell me that when the last of those assistants left that the program spiraled downhill.

so I guess Oregon blew it in the college football playoff vs ohio st this year? seriously my man if you think the national runner up in any sport BLEW it you need to do a reality check. there has to be a loser. out of what, over 100+ teams... we finished 2nd. blowing it is what hes done NOW. not finishing as the national runner up. fans like you make me want to tell ya what I really think. there's a meet up board if you're looking for sensitive friends for your sensitive chats?
this is a sports' forum, tiger football. football is a game and games were meant to be fun.

While I agree with the original post in this thread, this thread has to be one of the saddest threads I have read on t-net. I think some people need to just get outside sometimes and smell some fresh air.
If you're anywhere near the Blue Ridge Parkway today, and you see a red flash go by, that was me.
Nah - I'll be enjoying the beauty of the Parkway today, so it'll be slooooooowww.
Hint: buy a bike and ride it - it'll help cure the CLEMSON baseball blues.
