Interesting how writing about his experiences made his nightmares go away- somehow holding things in make it worse

It's a sad day indeed. I met Mr. Funchess at a baseball game in the 90s and never knew about his war experiences until he wrote a book detailing what had happened in Korea. He brought me a copy which he autographed for my dad who also served in Korea.
I send my condolences and prayers to his family.

humbling to read about men like this. Do men or women with this kind of courage, resolve, and patriotism even still exist? Condolences to his family and friends. May this great man rest in peace.

he was a member of my ex-wife's family ( cousins) . We often talked of his time in the North Korean POW camp and his book shows the cruelty of war and the Communists . I always enjoyed our talks at the family re-unions .

We cannot conceive what this hero and others went through nor do we have a good idea of how blessed we are. God bless America and those who died and survived defending her in an honorable fashion.
