What does it mean that someone endowed a position on the football team? Does the player get assistance or money?

The IPTAY Scholarship Fund now has a program creating endowments for each position on Clemson's athletic teams. This program is set up whereby an individual, family or group can select a position, make a donation and then be recognized as the person(s) endowing this position. For more information on endowing a position contact Bert Henderson at (864) 656-2115. This is a list of the endowment donors. The donor's name appears in orange and the honoree's name appears in purple.
