I'm glad Brad Brownell is our coach

I'm thrilled that Coach Martin is NOT our coach.
When you play in the best basketball conference in the country, and top 6 teams have been in top 20, and you are seriously competitive with all of those teams, you can be doing everything right and have a good team with a good coach, and still not make the NCAA tournament.
I support Brownell.
GO TIGERS!

teams say about their programs? Of course now that the ACC has surpassed the SEC in football it's a moot point. I don't ever want to say our mediocracy in basketball is acceptable because we just aren't good enough compared to the top half in our league. Barnes and Purnell proved we could compete. To say otherwise is just loser talk. We're Clemson and that kind of language is not in our vocabulary.

I'm just saying we had a ridiculously tough schedule this year, and we played all games very close. we could have easily been an NCAA tournament team this year. I do NOT believe it was Brownell's fault. His coaching won some games, including So. Carolina game. Coach Brownell never blamed the players. He is a good man, and an excellent coach. If you watched those games, it is hard to blame all of those close losses on the coach. We just had bad luck. To fire Brownell after this season would be WRONG.

Quote from The Post and Courier. Does this not show progress for a team that lost so many close games this year? Maybe more excitement from the fans may have a positive affect on the program. Maybe we can get that kid in Spartanburg for next year. But if we get NIT bid and play at home fill up LJ for the home games. If I could go and had tickets I would be at LJ for sure.
"Clemson played the No. 14 hardest schedule, as ranked by advanced metrics website kenpom.com, and has the No. 67 RPI in the country, which will bode well for the Tigers. Now all they can do is wait, hoping an NIT berth comes as they start to look to the future."

At what point do you say it's not going to happen with CBB? 6 years of missing the big dance and currently counting.
The "playing in a tough conference" excuses are exactly just what we poke fun at our football friends in Columbia for saying year after year after year. Kind of ironic? I've supported CBB but I think he has had far too long to show improvement.
Winthrop Coach Pat Kelsey would bring a "Dabo-like" personality to a identity-lacking current men's basketball program.

Our basketball program is like Carolinas football program. Muschump was not their first choice. He will never accomplish what Carolina fans are looking for. Brownell is the same. He is not the man who can take this program out of mediocrity. His excuses are just like Bowden.

You got my point. Brownell does the same thing by talking about close losses. He makes excuses too. We are not the chickens and I never want to make excuses like them.
