Thank you lord .... remember my dog post?

My boxer/pitt mix rescue boy lost the use of his back legs. He went to the vets, took steroids and pain pills for a while. The outcome was very bleak.
He still can't walk and I have to do a lot to care for him. However, almost 2 weeks ago when I took him off the meds and gave him all his favorite treats his ears perked up.

He was showing some signs that he wanted to stay around.
2 other dogs in the hood began to frequently stop by, his gf, the husky, and a huge German Shepphard ( that he played with when it was a small puppy). The Sheppard's behaviors have been amazing. Early when my dog seemed to not have much life left the German Sheppard would kiss and lick my dog all over. He sensed where my dog was hurting the most and targeted those spots the most. When the owner was ready to leave, their dog Rocky, would simply lay down and not budge. That huge Shepphard was as gentle and kind as anything I've ever seen.
My dog has done some healing so Rocky doesn't kiss as much, but he still stops by when he sees us.

This week my dog played with some of his toys for the first time since this journey began over a month, maybe 2 months ago..

A few times I was making my mental plans to ha e him put to sleep. And another dog lover in the hood said she would pay for it. Thank God I didn't give her the ok. I know tat time will come though. Anyday.

His stroller arrived this week and he got to visit his old stomping grounds.
I looked at them all and picked the one that I thought would work for us.

He's a good boy but doesn't get my sugar glaze doughnuts.

thanks.

Cancer sucks and it is winning a battle with a close loved one.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Thanks for sharing that.

Glad to hear you're getting at least a little more time with the pup!
