Getting $5M in college could set you up for life if you’re smart with it.

I could take that 5 million and trade the stock mkt with it and make 700,000-800,000 per year. With my eyes closed.

He’s not getting $5.1 mil at once. It’s a 3 year deal. factor in taxes and agent fees if they have them he might get $500k per year.

One of the worse investments. Offensive linemen are RARELY ready to play out of high school and if you read the article it states a rev share deal not NIL. like Texas A&M who has been vocal about buying the top rated recruiting class this year this isn't sustainable. Regardless what some think college football cannot be ran like the NFL. Colleges do not have the profit margin of an NFL team. Colleges have to sustain their universities and non revenue sports. Giving guys like this this type of deal will start to alienate other players plus their isn't enough money to buy the best of the best at every position which is why no way I'd spend that on an Offensive linemen. I'll take a 3 star for pennies and turn him into an all American. Just dumb.Texas Tech is just trying to get headlines. Hope Ojo enjoys never winning any thing bc obviously it's all about the money and why "me" guys rarely work out.

Cody Campbell, a former Texas Tech offensive lineman under Mike Leach went into the oil business after a brief stint in the NFL and recently sold his oil business for 4.1 billion dollars.
He is the founder of the NIL collective for Texas Tech and is the money behind buying Texas Tech players. Irony of all ironies is he says college football will be killed if NIL is not reformed. So, Trump has appointed him along with Nick Saban to lead the way on reforming NIL.
A FORMER TEXAS TECH OFFENSUVE LINEMAN PAYS A HS LINEMAN 5 MILLION TO PLAY FOR TEXAS TECH.
You can't make this chit up.

It rev share allocation. $1.7M per yr. I don’t exactly understand what fully guaranteed means. If he transfers and they have to continue to pay him then TT athletic dept is being incompetent. That yearly amount may end up being the market for the OT to protect the QB. Certain positions are going to get paid like this if not more (QB, CB, DE, OT). It just mirrors how the NFL values positions. I do think TT is distorting their rev share allocation that is going to burn them big time.
