At least 2 dead plus the shooter, one 8 and one 10! Either we are going to have gated schools with metal detector entrances or we are going to have armed security all around the schools. The insanity is out of control!

Get them certified with the local Sheriff or Police Dept and let them augment/support the SRO, who clearly can't be everywhere all the time.
I go to a fairly big church and we have guys positioned around the campus and buildings - armed, but concealed. They also have first-aid packs and are there to help with anything that comes up - whether a shooter, a medical emergency, domestic situation or whatever.
There's no reason why schools can't do this - public and private. Even a 60+ year old retired guy with a handgun and decent aim could at least have slowed this kid down and perhaps saved some lived.
People would rather try to blame guys and use shootings to further their political agenda than do anything that might really work.

How about we put the mentally ill back into insane asylums like we use to do. Then lock up the criminals. That would be a start.

That POS shooter was the direct result of a failed social experiment by the left. Period. How many more innocent people have to die before this is treated the way it should?
