Gamecocks claim their latest commit is #1 receiver in state for 2017. That true or does Ortre have something to say about that? I guess they cling to what they can and I am sure he is a good "get", but it will take a lot more than that to bring the BOOM! He is small at 6' 170 lbs.

Eh he's a good pick up for them. Good hands and versatile WR. I'm glad we're recruiting Or'Tre and think we pick him up. Or'Tre is the #1 wr in the state but Shi Smith is a good player.

Again he's a good player but yes we stopped recruiting him and also have pulled back on James Robinson. Since we have Rodgers we are recruiting hard for Tee Higgins and Or'Tre Smith. Those would be the last 2 to fill out the 2017 WR Class

It def does not hurt Clemson in any way.
He would not see the field unless we are playing teams like the Coots.

But being the number one receiver in the state is not a massive accomplishment (he isn't, btw). Him and Ortre are the only good receivers in the state this cycle, and Ortre is better. SC has been down in talent the past few years, though next year looks like a big one.
Lets just say we got a much better player in Amari and be done with it.

Ortre Smith is the #3 overall sc player and #230 overall player per espn
Ortre Smith is the #12 overall wr per rivals and shi smith is the #51 overall receiver per rivals. They don't have the state numbers listed.
Ortre Smith is the #1 overall player in sc per 247 and 131 overall.
Shi smith is the #2 overall player in sc per 247 and 244 overall.

I saw him play one game last year and he was not impressive. Maybe it was just that one game, but he didn't do anything that made him look like a D1 player.
