It’s got to still bother him that he never beat the Coots .

He helped springboard the program back to the promised land, but he had some complete brain fart turnovers in big games and it cost us dearly. Some of those were against the coots if memory serves me correct. And I want to say vs FL State at home against Winston with ESPN College GameDay on campus... there may have been more.
Not beating the coots during his tenure definitely tarnishes his legacy for me.
But I will ALWAYS remember the Chickfila Bowl vs LSU in the old Georgia Dome on New Years Eve. That is probably in the top 2 best Clemson games I've ever been to.

Tajh’ s performance against LSU was phenomenal - a pivotal game in CU history. I may be wrong, but I credit him for taking Clemson to another level. When he was on, he had such a beautiful long ball and he worked like a mad man running the ball. I worried that we ran him too much. He may not have won a national championship or beaten USCjr, but he definitely upgraded our program.

2014 Orange Bowl win against the Bucknuts. Tajh easily could have thrown away the game with that INT, but Stephone Anthony saved his bacon with one of his own.

I believe Rodney is in the area of the top 5 but I doubt he will be #1. I watched Rodney when he played at Irmo High and he was a very good QB. He wasn't an option QB at Irmo but instead a passer. Clemson made him one of the best optin QB's that I have ever seen.

I guess I missed an explanation of why Trevor Lawrence was #3 instead of 2 or 1. But, that's OK because I will never agree with it. Go ahead and down vote me now, please.

Clowney probably gave that to a lot of QB's. I believe a #2

is fitting for Tajh. His gutsy performance vs. OSU, his game vs. LSU without Sammy and there were other games. Tajh helped build the program to where it is. He's one tough cookie and he is also a Tiger for life.

This was a great choice for #2. In addition to his stats, he moved to Clemson and made a lot of improvement in order to become a great qb.

Sorry, but I could never rate Rodney that high. I guess I just saw him jump up in the air and throw one too many interceptions. If he ever did that little air jump as he let it go, you could almost set your watch that it was going to be picked off.
Rodney has done some great things for Clemson, I have nothing against him personally, I've never met him. But, I have said in the past, and still say, Rodney took a couple of Natty winning teams and turned them into ten win teams. I personally would put Mike Eppley, among others, ahead of Rodney in my Top Ten.

DW4 and TL16 are #1 and #2; how this season fares could clearly define TL16 as #1. That said, there should be no debate who the top two are. I love Tajh but to put him ahead of TL16 is laughable.

This is what made him Great:

As a passer he was OK. Didn't avoid the rush by stepping up in the pocket. But as a runner. OMG. 3rd and goal.Time and time again. EVERY ONE IN THE STADIUM AND ON THE DEFENSE KNEW HE WAS GOING TO RUSH FOR THE TD. THEY STILL COULD NOT STOP HIM. Just amazing.

TL was the best high school recruit at QB I have ever seen and that is with more than 40 years of following recruiting closer than just about anybody out there. He was possibly also the best true freshman QB I have ever seen. Sure, maybe he didn't look so good against LSU, but this season he probably makes up for that and leads Clemson to another championship. So, yeah, TL should at least be #2. Nothing against Boyd, but Lawrence is an incredible QB.

TL is without a doubt more talented, but Tajh had a stellar career. If Lawrence does all you said this season, he will glide past Tajh in any future rankings. Let’s let him earn it for now.

He already earned it with a national championship as a true freshman and was right on the money with his passing in that game. He almost singlehandedly led Clemson to a win they probably shouldn't have had against tOSU last year with his feet. To say he's not at least #2 is silly at best. Boyd was good, no doubt, but the difference is night and day. I guess you are one of those guys that think he should cut his hair. SMH

Oh, and I live far to the west of Clemson. People here talk about Trevor Lawrence in that they want to watch the Clemson game because this young kid is incredible and they are hardly Clemson fans. Never heard anything like that about Boyd. Just saying.
