Tailgating trailers - anyone have one?

Oct 11, 2015, 8:49 PM

Or tailgate with someone that has one? Our tailgate has grown to the point where we're starting to think this is the way to go. Just had some questions if anyone on here has one.

Here is one that is "gently used" but extremely ugly.

Trailer has several advantages.

1. Can bring more/bigger stuff and not be cramped on packing it up as tightly.
2. Can use the unpacked trailer as a waterproof place to put tv/satellite box,inverter/etc.
3. Dont have to own a car/van/truck that is dedicated to tailgating.
4. All the tailgate stuff isnt taking up passenger space in tow vehicle.
5. Spills, etc can be easily cleaned out of trailer where it is not as easy in the carpet in back of SUV.

Cons:
1. Trailers are harder to backup.
2. Need a place to park the trailer the other 358 days of the year.
3. May need another parking pass depending on lot location.

Yep, see - right now we've got so much stuff we take. TV's, generator, several tables, satellite, 4-5 coolers, hot plates... The trailer seems the way to go. Storage wouldn't be an issue really, and we have two parking places. All around it seems like a win.

And I saw the sc one on eBay earlier today.. That's kind of what I'm thinking, but I'd have to re-wrap the whole thing. I'd have to cover it up in sheets just to take it to get the wrap redone.

if you are handy and creative then you would be best off

Buying a used one off of craigslist, inspecting and or replacing the bearings. Then outfitting the inside as you want, along with getting a wrap or paint scheme going.

Get it functional, then worry about getting it looking perfect.
