T-station at Boston College

Oct 13, 2014, 12:04 PM

I've been there twice. First time I took the T to this station that was fairly near the stadium and appeared to be at the end of the line. Took a long time coming and going.
The second time I went (2 years ago) we got off at a different station and walked a good ways but it was faster coming and going. Especially when we walked back to the station after the game. We didn't have to wait at all.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about and know which station that is? We had to walk through a neighborhood to get to the stadium but it was a nice neighborhood and wasn't a bad walk.

You probably took the D line to "Chestnut Hill" stop. It is much faster than taking the B line to the "Boston College" stop. The walk to the stadium from the Chestnut Hill stop is about ten minutes. If you want to go to a bar first or pick up alcohol, you can get off one stop earlier at Reservoir. Unless you are old or handicapped, do not take the B line! It takes at least twice as long.

The one that is at the end of the line could be one of two. The Green line C trains (Cleveland Circle stop) - if you walked around a reservoir then that is it. Otherwise, you were on the Green line B trains and got off at the end, which is the Boston College stop.

The other one is on the Green line D trains and it is the Chestnut Hill stop. This is the one in which you walk through a neighborhood to get to the stadium. By far the best route in my experience over the years.

I think we took the Green Line D (GLB) that ends up at

Riverside instead of the Greenline B that ends up at Boston College. On Greenline D I think I got off at Chestnut Hills station. On the map it looks like maybe a block further to the stadium than the Boston College station. Does this sound right?

I just remember that the train was half full and there were half as many stops. it was so much nicer.

Depends on what you are looking for...

Boston College station (Green Line B): Shortest walk but the longest wait to get on the train if the game was close.

Cleveland Circle station (Green Line C): Longest walk around the reservoir but restaurants and bars are nearby if you are hungry.

Chestnut Hill station (Green Line D): Longer walk than Boston College Station but shortest wait to get on the train if the game was close. However, no bars and restaurants nearby and it's easy to get lost in the nice residential neighborhoods.
