T-47 tariffs & trade deals = foundation of Armenia & Azerbaijan peace agreement

The war-addicted ‘civilized’ world is gnashing its teeth again. Another business opportunity of the Military / Industrial / Crony Politicians … poof … down the drain.

Today, it was announced that T-47 had brokered a peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijani. That evil Trump used trade agreements as the ‘carrot’ aspect of of the peace agreement; the ‘stick’ was that, without the peace agreement, the 35 year long bloodshed would continue. Using trade to bring about peace, instead of ignoring the conflict &/or relying on vapid UN diplomacy tactics to stop the war (as was the MO of GWB, Obama, and Biden Handlers Admin), is just one more reason why Trump is such a world menace.

(*). Looking forward to hearing from Trump haters about why anyone should care about this latest peace deal accomplishment by Trump.

OK, then he’s Forrest (Tr)(G)ump.

Stumbling into the African countries peace deal, getting credit from the Pakis about the Pakistani / India peace deal, and now this Armenia / Azerbaijani peace deal.

If only GWB, Obama, or Biden Handlers Admin had such luck!

He probably has little to do with it, but of course you give him credit.

Oh, yes. Let peace and freedom reign.

Mind, "peace" only peripherally has anything to do with it. The real bennie to the US is entirely warlike - it gives the Pentagon a 25-mile corridor they can launch troops into Iran with. It's a forward operating base with a "peace deal" wrapper around it. Azerbaijan went for it because it literally puts American troops on the Iranian border, Armenia went for it because they'd rather the Americans were sitting in that corridor than the Azerbaijanis. And yes, technically it does separate the two sides.

It also puts us real, real close to Iran's nuclear facilities...should we decide to drop the 101st Airborne into that corridor, for instance, roll across the Iranian border, and then go shut down those facilities the old fashioned way...with boots on the ground.

The corridor will be enforced by American military contractors...and ultimately, backed by the US Armed Forces. (And the American taxpayers.) Oh, and there's a 25-year lease.

Strategically it's not the worst idea ever, and you can see why the American military loves it. They get an FOB...without having to admit they have an FOB.

But I thought we were isolationist and done with military adventurism all over the globe? This is pure Reaganite geopolitic, here, something Reagan, the Clintons - who were shockingly hawklike and never met a war they didn't want to prosecute - and both Bushes all would have been proud of, American might projected all over the globe.

Make up your mind already.
