as bad as this deal has turned out to be, Swafford didn't make it in a vacuum. Didn't ADs , Boards,or administrations of the member schools have to sign off on it? Impressivly bad business decision from a supposidly savy bunch.

Swoffy is the worst thing that has happened to the ACC. That is why we need to cut ties to the North Carolina schools. They pushed Swoffy as the head guy.

Clemson ideally needs to remain in a conference with at least on NC school (and GA school) for recruiting purposes.

Probably not, but not having an invite from another conference and having 12 other schools unwilling to budge on the GoR, leaving you with the only other option of going independent… you sign the document and hope to lawyer your way out of it later if needed. Keep in mind the media deal at the time was at least somewhat competitive

I’m sure he and his henchmen negotiated the deal and then manipulated the ADs to sign it else they wouldn’t get as much money. Probably still gets a check in an offshore account from ESPN!

Maybe we can start a go fund me and raise the $300M to go independent until a conf picks us up…. Or maybe Elon Musk can buy us like a pro team and put his name on the electrical engineering building? Just throwing some options out there. 😂
