understand no one in PA nor Pittsburg cares about Pitt they will bring little to no fans to games. they have been irreverent in FB since the earlie '80's.

They are not great academically. Neither is Louisville. The President's decided to get off their high horse when they saw the "academic conference" crumbing around them. Admitting Louisville is an admission that they screwed up by not admitting WV.

Considering the long-standing rivalry between the two,

it could possibly have been a positive to have both. When the ACC failed to invite WVA with the earlier expansion, it had the appearance of snobbery, which Clemson people have complained against the Tobacco Road crowd for years...and I say that even considering all the academic standards talk. I just don't like Clemson adopting effete elitist attitudes, and, frankly, I thought it was a gross insult and, perhaps, miscalculation for the ACC to skip over WVA and ask Pitt. Now, in Pitt's defense they do have national football titles on their resume, play in the same stadium as the Steelers and will support their team, if winning...typical of a lot of other schools. The failure to invite WVA IMO made the entire conference appear holier-than-thou, elitist snobs...and Clemson should have had the guts to stand in WVA's defense...period.

particularly the Tobacco Road schools and the ACC chief, Swofford. Whether I am "real" or not, I would agree, is a matter of conjecture. lol

and it seems Barker is one of the power brokers in ACC expansion so you comments come as no surprise. like you I am disappointed in the "attitude" we seem to have developed under his watch

UNC, Duke and a couple others who wanted Syracuse and who were *never* going to vote to admit an academically "weak" school like WVU. A year later, these geek schools votes to admit academically "weak" Louisville. And yes, WVU is really bitter about all of this...

Clemson and WVU will be in the same conference within

the next 12 years. One or the other is in the wrong conference.
WVU's contract with the Big 12 expires in 12 years. The ACC has been around for 60 years. If the ACC is a BCS conference in 12 more years, WVU will be in the ACC.
