CANCER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

must not have been a surprise

Jan 4, 2015, 10:12 AM

ESPN had about a 20 minute obit/tribute planned that they just showed.

the lady breaking the news (Hannah Storm) almost couldn't get through the announcement.

It won't a surprise. He had cancer.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

he had cancer for 7 years, most everybody knew that

Jan 4, 2015, 10:16 AM

my point was that he must have taken a serious turn for the worst in the last couple weeks for them to have something prepared like that.

Prayers out to the Scott family. I really started to like sports center when he came along. The phrase " cool as the other side of the pillow" instantly became my favorite catch phrase and anytime he was on, I had to stop and watch him. He had that charisma that just locked you in. The sports world lost a good one today no doubt.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He was the reason I watched Soortscenter as well.

Jan 4, 2015, 11:45 AM

It's funny. Never really like sports as a whole all that much until I started watching the top 10 plays, which I never would have starTed watching if it weren't for him.

Just saw his funeral is tomorrow....

Jan 9, 2015, 7:31 PM

most people don't realize this but he got his start in Florence (my hometown). He filled in and was the weekend sports guy in the mid 80's. RIP Stuart... One of the good guys...

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yea, Rick Henry (WIS) hired him at that Florence station.

Jan 9, 2015, 7:39 PM

Before Henry moved to WIS in cootville.

Yeah johnny cochrans daughter was an anchor at one of the stations... I think wpde if I remember correctly. My daughter was the nightly news producer at wbtw, and its a stepping stone for a lot of careers... I knew Rick and his family, too bad he went to the dark side...

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and another anchor from florence...

Jan 9, 2015, 7:53 PM
