Well yeah, both schools were probably doing that. Byrnes mascot was a Confederate Soldier until the 90s. I'm just saying you can attribute the name to something other without changing all tradition.

West Spartanburg area. A small town called Lyman. I went to Byrnes until 11th grade. We moved to Irmo and I graduated Dutch Fork.
