Still can't believe some of the posts from UL message boards

Oct 12, 2014, 7:36 PM

saying how thankful they are to now be in the ACC. Strange to see such thankfulness among one of our schools.

They really are in a honeymoon stage with the conference. Maybe it's primarily basketball driven.

But belive me UL, you'll get the Swoffy treatment sooner rather than later in scheduling, refereeing, amateur TV broadcasts and other inequalities.

the ACC is big time for them

And since they're in the big time they need to lose those comic book helmets

Yeah, and look how we just trampled in the game on Saturday. Without a heroic
stand by our D, they win the game. So what's to brag about??

You obviously can't tolerate differing opinions. This seems to violate the very
spirit of the board, which respects differing opinions. Have you considered re-locating
to North Korea? Give it your best shot.

I wanted to link the comments and let people discover the validation of our fanbase themselves.

But it is the same story from every visiting fanbase. The biggest difference I saw was the gratitude to now be in the ACC.

Re: Still can't believe some of the posts from UL message boards

When the alternative is the AAC or other non-Power 5 for foosball then the ACC is sexy as all get up!

As Clemson fans we get a little hemorrhoidal pain because of tobacco road politics but politics exist everywhere. LSU routinely gets the shaft from Birmingham.

I'm happy Clemson is in the ACC and not the SEC. As far as Louisville goes, things worked out well for them. They get to hang out with a bunch of their old Big East buddies and they get some new geographic rivals.

And unlike WVU they don't have to fly across the country for their away games.

Good point. Most message boards talk teams with little

Oct 12, 2014, 8:01 PM

mention of the conference in the ACC. Among SEC schools, it is hard to find a post that doesn't reference the conference in every post.

Unless you're a Bama fan, giving you

Oct 12, 2014, 8:31 PM

right to being the most dominant team over the last 6+/- years and 3 NC's, the conference having the NC is all they have to stand on.....and ESecPn. I met a 65-70 year old Bama fan about two weeks ago. So I asked him, "Do you cheer for Bama, or do you chant SEC?" He said, "Do you pull for Clemson or Virginia?" I said, "That's what I thought." Really cool guy. Anyways, you pull for a conference when you have no individual accomplishments of your own.

be a cream puff.

You don't know what you have until it's gone. How would you guys feel if tomorrow your school suddenly joined CUSA. That's how Louisville felt last year after the Big East went up in smoke. The ACC not only saved us, but we are better off here than we ever were in the BE. We couldn't be happier.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Glad to have you but...

Oct 12, 2014, 8:05 PM

as I said in the OP, beware of getting Swoffy'd.

UL is in particular peril of gettign sic'd upon with the low APR and innordinate amount of JuCo, transfer and prep-school players.

As soon as you infringe on Tobaccy Road, you'll be screwed.

Oct 12, 2014, 8:15 PM

be fine. The only exception is every 25 year or so cycle when football becomes respectable. Then, don't beat them in football either. Fortunately, they don't stay good very long in football.

Louisville fans on all the boards are trying to compliment us in every way possible. You come back with the biggest slam you could generate. Very unnecessary & low IMO. I hereby apologize for your post. I let my sons have my tickets for the game. They met quite a few Louisville fans & reported that they were great. Many years ago I spent 2 years at Fort Knox. Back then I thought that you couldn't find any better people than those in the Louisville area. Apparently, they haven't changed.

Well in their history what other big venues have they been to?

Oct 12, 2014, 8:04 PM

They are used to road trips to Pitt and Cincinatti and places like that. They aren't used to bigtime atmospheres

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You know, I actually like their fans

Oct 13, 2014, 12:28 PM

Earlier this week I was Jaques Strapping it on their board, thinking they were a bunch of hillbilly jerks like the UK fans, but they're not. So glad to have them instead of the twerps.
