From best to worst:
Illinois NC State Missouri LSU UMASS USF Drake George Washington
Also a bunch of small jobs are open.
Will any of these jobs take potential clemson candidates? (For next year)

It's just another excuse for program paralysis.

From a management perspective, like sunk costs, it has no bearing on the decision making process.
There will never be a perfect time to let a coach go.

DRad is going to need a shove from the President and Board.

His poor decision on the contract extension prevents him from pulling the trigger on his own.

Probably! The question is how much Clemson would be willing to pay the next coach and hopefully increased commitment by the administration. Does Drad really think that Brownell will turn the corner in the next two years? If he doesn't buyout or not a change needs to be made. Be honest. If Brownell does not show real growth next season, imagine the wrath of the fans next season.

There will always be competition for good coaches, and when it's time for a change, we have to be prepared to move. Besides, those jobs aren't necessarily better jobs for the right coach, just like those aren't necessarily better places to spend a few years playing basketball while getting an education for the right recruits. That's the mindset we have to break out of.

Missouri and LSU are close but I could see the right coach making clemson more attractive than those two jobs

What if we don't make the NIT?
Mar 12, 2017, 4:14 PM
|
|
I don't think anybody in the Clemson Administration expected us to miss the NCAA Tournament AND the NIT when Coach Brownell and DRad and everyone was pointing to this year as the year Coach Brownell and his team would be at their best.

That's the point. This was Brownells best team and they underachieved badly. Now we are being told again that this will be Brownells best group of recruits and they will be the difference. You Brownell supporters can't keep hiding behind these excuses. If he fails next year , this resistance to change will destroy Clemson basketball.

I think Keats, Hurley and Archie Miller

can have most of those jobs if they want them. I'd say Miller or Keats to State. Can see Hurley to Illinois, maybe the guy from SIU.
Point is there are many mid major guys who are ready for their chance. Throw in a Wade, Kelsey, several others. Could see a guy like Cooley from Providence, even McDermott at Creighton moving in to one of the more prominent ones.
There are always good candidates available

State's almost in as bad a position as we are...
Mar 16, 2017, 2:03 PM

I don't consider that a prime job in anyway.
Simply too much competition in North Carolina for recruits,
and the Duke and UNC names obliterate State in the marketplace.
coaching graveyard in my opinion...

GW behind Drake?

And UMass behind LSU and Mizzu?
Have you become an SEC basketball shill? Is an ESPN show in the works?
On a serious note, where would you put Clemosn on this list?
