almost taking the role as sole culprit throughout.
Notre Dame blocked punt early that turned momentum big time and hampered punting from there.
South Carolina with dorky trick special teams play and calls on returns and coverage.
Tennessee by choosing to go for it close early and not letting BT keep his flow, going on to miss what 3, 4 there in a row after and putting us further on our heels?
Missing points opportunities early v Duke. Changes much of how the 2nd half would have been played.
FSU the latest.
NIL, Portal, Dabo's 'inexperienced' stable of coaches - none of these are factors really in the Special Teams category. Sure, turnovers also contributed in those games, heavily at times, but the special teams unit is really the one that's come up short in the grand scheme of things, and that's not all on the players there.

Some good points. I don't think we put a high enough priority on special teams. It can be the difference in winning and losing, especially in close games.

Fair point on all games except for Notre Dame.
In that case you are delusional and need to take off the orange sun glasses.
They dominated us in the trenches on both sides of the ball. We had zero shot of winning that game. They would have needed to hand us the ball 4-5 times if we had any hope.

We are one of those schools that does not utilize a special teams coach. I know that we are limited to how many on field coaches we can have so why can't we combine some of the positions that are similar like say safeties and DB'S or receivers and TEs?

Can't they convince Danny to stop on by and coach those teams up a couple times a week? Surely that would lead to SOME needed improvement

well, add in the turnovers (especially around the goal) and you really have to dig yourself out of a hole.
