Obed® can disregard this, as well as anyone not in SC.
This is only the GFS model. But it's the model that underestimated the winter storm last week early on relative to other models, and proved to be pretty accurate eventually. Other models had last week with way more snow. This next round GFS is saying we get a large snow storm in SC, while the other models say little to nothing. Who knows. 90% sure we will have an arctic cold snap, with temps well below normal. But the precip is anyone's guess. 30 miles with this low can make or break this system. Other models have a snow storm mainly in eastern SC and along the SC/NC coast. And some have nothing.

What's odd is GFS has been consistent with something happening.

It's gone back and forth, but that's between a dusting on the coast, several inches on the coast, or a bomb in the midlands. The lone other model is the Canadian model now showing a more coastal storm, around 8 inches, with the midlands on the far western edge (nothing for Greenville).
Other models, that predicted way more snow (and cold) that never happened earlier, say this all goes way offshore. GFS last time had the temps way higher than other models, and less snow, and pretty much got it right, from way out like now.
5 days I'll pay more attention.

Ventusky has been dead on with hurricanes for the last couple of years and was correct with their winter storm prediction upstate last week. Gonna need a couple of dozen eggs if this comes through.
