speaking of deer

12

Aug 16, 2023, 9:31 AM

took dog out last night, had a doe just laying in the front yard. why does this #### me off?

b/c her, her frands, and all her frands chirrun been eatin my zalyas.

so I shoo her off, and she runs cross the street.

now...my neighbors have all invested in these motion sensor deer / varmint repeller thingies. basically they see something and lights blink, high pitch noises sound, etc.

this dadgum doe walked right cross the road, and plopped her happyass down right in front of one of them repellant thingies.

so...knowing that's out, what y'all got to keep deer from eatin my zalyas, hydrangeas, and other flowers?

inb4 - broadhead, bullet, etc. need a spray or old wives' remedy that is safe for toddlers and dogs

Jack your house up like houses at the beach except make it like 20 feet high (and enjoy your newfound storage underneath!).

Then jack your yard up to about 15 feet.

I doubt the deer will be able to get up there to your flowers.

YW!

same here. They didn't eat the hostas for years, but now

they do. Same with those common orange daylillies that grow along the roadside everywhere around here, they wait till they're about to bloom, and eat the tops off. They're eating more every year. It's not unusual for us to see 20 on our evening dog walks, or 3-4 in our yard anytime.

I got some deer spray from Lowes that seems to work

for maybe a couple of days. Had neighbors try wolf urine...not sure where the hell they even got wolf urine but supposedly they tried it. Didn't work.

Someone shot a deer with a bow awhile back and it limped off and died in another neighbors yard where his 6 or 7 year old daughter found it so that was kinda funny/kinda not.

Personally, I have just given up. I have what looks like a crop circle in my front yard where they lay at night and shid all over the place. The good news is if SHTF I will be able to go out and kill a few with only a pocket knife if need be. They're #### near domesticated.

Get 10 or 12 of these for your yard...

You gotta assert your dominance and mark your territory

Let them deers know what's up. Every morning at sunrise, go take a big juicy snek long shid in your front yard and let that stench woft around.

yard. I think it's because they smell the dogs and the one or two times I took the husky out late night early morning and she took off after them.

Plant a nice crop of clover in your neighbor's yard with a dash of corn thrown in their shrubbery for good measure.
