Conversation 19She had with her mother this weekend. I don't even like cats, and I was still rendered pretty close to speechless on the latest dinger from these people. If you'll recall, these are the ones that won the lottery by inheriting a $250K piece of a farm, and after having received the check at the beginning of this year, are bound and determined to spend every ####### dime of it by the end of 2012. Well on the way with the Disneyland trip for 14 people, the $40K+ RV (plus flatscreen TV, and the impending lift that will need to be installed for MIL).
So, they have an RV excursion coming up to Ohio, Florida, and wherever else, and will probably be gone for a month or two. Their cat, Romeo, is 14 years old, in good health, and they've had him for all 14 years. They can't find anybody to watch the cat or come over and give it food a couple times while they're gone, so, the obvious solution: take him in and have him put down, you know, since he's 14 years old. He's had a good life, so it's time.
19She was about to reach thru the phone and choke her. I think MIL is rethinking her plan after threats from the rest of the family, but c'mon. That's ###### up, right?

1 - they heed the advice of the Mayans and know that the world will be gone by end calendar year. Why foolishly save money? Plus, the cats days are numbered just like ours are.
2- in case that event doesn't happen for some reason, they get much better value for their money now than later. In 2013, Disney tickets will undoubtedly be raised, and rampant inflation will make their $40K RV a good value compared to a future purchase.
