Leaving the game

Oct 4, 2015, 2:25 AM

Leaving Clemson, soon to head back to Chicago.
Exciting game, congrats to your tigers about the win.
Unfortunately, a significant portion of your fans don't know how to win and were serious ### holes to me and my friends. I have been following the Irish to away games for over s decade and just had my worst experience. Two different guys got in my face and another screamed as us . Enjoyed the visit and wish your team good luck but your fans need to put some action behind the southern hospitality nonsense they talk about

Grow some balls. Football isn't all rainbows and butterflies. Not sure about some of you, it's called DEATH VALLEY for a reason. Bring your own guts - or stay home. No one should come to our house and walk around like they own the joint. The recent "sportsmanship" push at clemson is really kind of sickening to me. This isn't Better Homes and Gardens. This is Saturday night in the South.

All in.

Oct 4, 2015, 6:15 AM

Since the days of Frank Howard, the supposed "top teams from the north" have avoided coming down to DV because they knew their record would have a blemish on it. When they finally grow the courage to visit, they expect some sort of "aw-shucks we shore do like havin' yawl brang your yankee money sir" attitude. The truth is we are a powerhouse program that boasts a national title, many conference championships and a history of winning. Not including the ACC (those teams know their place and for the most part understand our passion), most out of conference schools spend too much time listening to ESPN and expect us to be soft. Then we punch them in the mouth. They don't like it, so they resort to the redneck jokes. Unfortunately, that exposes their ignorance because Clemson is a we respected school that produces generation after generation of highly qualified engineers, teachers, soldiers and too many others to list here.

I have been coming to DV as a fan, student or alumni since 1978, and I can count on one hand how many programs showed up and (as a whole) and showed class. I realize everyone, even us, has a small few that should probably stay home, but I'm talking about as a group......Texas A&M were good guests, Missouri, Rice and Boston College (the Flutie era version).

It's okay to hate us, we expect you to, because Clemson is back.

Not tolerated at Clemson

Oct 4, 2015, 8:52 AM

I'm an "old" alumni (55 years young) and one of the things I brag about Clemson on is that it is very rare when a student does anything to disrespect CU, on campus or off, and it carries with them for the rest of their lives. I'm sorry for what happened, but I can safely say that it is indeed a rarity. I've been to other campuses where that behavior is common (and have you been to an NFL game lately?) It's not only uncommon at Clemson, but it's also not tolerated.

Thank you for coming to the game, and safe travels,

I hate to break it to y'all but every fan base has fans like that, Clemson is no exception. Although most are nice, I have seen some of our fans act like a$$es before. I honestly had a terrible experience with ND fans downtown and around prior to, during, and after the game. Many of the folks y'all brought down with you were rude, unnecessarily aggressive, and way too drunk compared to everyone else there. Grown men puking in the bushes and I had several try to start fights while I was minding my own business with friends. Sorry you had a poor experience with a couple Clemson fans, but the majority of ND fans I encountered were worse than Gamecock fans - and that's saying something.

Re: Leaving the game

Oct 4, 2015, 5:07 PM

Our fans should not act like that but then again --and this is a fact not an excuse--we really didn't need to hear how great ND was all week, what great O and D lines they had, what a fantastic receiver they had and your dumb ### coach felt--"they've been in this position with loud noise many time before"! Really? Sure the historical ND teams have but not THIS team and it showed.
Candidly there were ND fans I saw who talked like nothing but arrogant ND grads! So, if it's too much for you just stay home next time.
Your football team talked trash all week especially number 7 who got totally shut down with 3 receptions for 37 or so yards. Your lines were slow and your O line basically holds on every pass protection set. So take your crap and peddle it in Chicago. Personally, I've known several of your grads and found them to be among the most arrogant jack asres I've ever met!
BTW, you just were very lucky that none of your players got cheap shotted like your freaking team did to Watson on the very first play directly in front of me after he was 5 yards out of bounds! So take your holier than thou attitude partner and shove it you know where.
.
