Dude...can it...
Hawkins has been raking all night and will be our 4 hole hitter next year. He’s got power and is not the guy you bunt with. Read a book.

Bunting is successful 70+% of the time moving the runner
With the shift hitting is lower than ever in success moving a runner
You bunt, no question in a game with an opponent like this. One run will win this game

Heavy interest in sunbelt and socon but wouldn’t play politics and take a fresh/soph walk on spot at school of choice
Fished and surfed my way through college instead
No coaching except for my kids when they start tball

its not a one size fits all situation. think we have 2-3 successful sac bunts THIS YEAR. hawkins, who as noted above, had all ready hit one off the wall.. and he prob hasn't been asked to bunt since little league. like it or not, its not the way most teams play the game now. its changed since your days as a backup RF in church league.

2-3’sac bunts this year is a reflection of being crappy at bunting
Hawkins just bounced off the wall so he is mathematically likely not to do that again tonight

No, you can't say one run WILL win this game.

One run might win this game. It also might not. And that's just one problem with bunting in that situation in general. Giving up an out with 2 on and no out torpedoes your chance of a multi-run inning.
If its the 9th and UGA only has 1 more AB I think it becomes much more appealing.

I’m a hunter, how many times do you sit in the tree and take one you’d choose out of others. 1 out of 4? At best. You take a large female not because you like killing a population expanded female but because your odds of a taking a beyond button male are few.

This isn't 20 years ago. Modern analytics have told us that many things that were done for years were incorrect. This is one of them.

Whether or not to bunt there is debatable.
Bigger picture in my opinion is chasing the same breaking pitch off the plate over and over and over. Makes pitching pretty easy.

Monte has done everything wrong but that. Sharpe and bo were going to k anyways. If we were the type of team who could get a runner in with second and third with one out then yes bunt. The sad truth is we can’t. Period

Bunting isn’t difficult to coach when it comes to skill. Hold the fat part of the bat in the way of the ball...
Ego is usually the factor

The totally inexcusable part is that not many Clemson batters can bunt. The inability to bunt has already cost us one game - against Notre Dame. Say what you want about JL. His teams could bunt.

Bunting or small ball wins more games then hitting, hands down.
Errors win ranked games. Bad throa to first, misread hop, move em over and score.
