So..TiG O put 40 pts on Great Bama SEC D in Natty

Sep 1, 2016, 11:52 AM

So..why is it thought (Tommy Bowden for 1) that it can't happen, again, to an average to good Auburn D?

Tell me, Please!!

There's a good reason why he's never picked up another head coaching gig.

it is not uncommon for the best O's to struggle early in the season. Remember louisville?
That being said, I believe we should be ok.

With the number of returning starters coming back on Offense, we'll be just fine.

Next year will be another story.

Hed still be coaching.

We were missing Mike Williams and Deon Cain

Sep 1, 2016, 11:56 AM

And Artavis Scott and Ray Ray were banged up for the NC game.

I don't get it either Bill.

So..with so many WR's out or hurt in Natty + Mack dropping out

Sep 1, 2016, 12:01 PM

Do you think we could have put 50+ On Red Elephants if we had everybody available ..and held them to 38 ( or less) with Mack in?

Re: we missed a chip shot FG and a 2-pt conversion....

Sep 1, 2016, 1:22 PM

easily should have been 44.

if the clock had been handled right at the end of the half we might have had a shot at 7, not 3.

there was also another 4 points in A Scott's hands in the end zone, but he couldn't quite hold on. M Williams would have made that catch.

DW also missed a streaking Ray Ray on the INT he threw - should really have been 7 - Saban thought it was a TD for us when the ball was in the air because the CB released the wrong player. only a safety out of position saved them.

we also had 1 less possession than Bama because of the on-sides kick.

quite frankly, with Williams and Cain

we might well have put up 60 on them,

and probably should have had 50 anyway.

How do you know Auburn's defense isn't going to be great?

Sep 1, 2016, 2:45 PM

New season. Yes, Steele is there but it appears talent is as well.

Also remember, Alabama struggles against spread teams. I wouldn't base any success off of your game with Alabama. If you are going to look at your success on offense against them, then you need to wonder what the crap happened on defense. Alabama scored more on you guys than they did anybody except Charleston Southern. Alabama is not an offensive powerhouse.

Tigers had tight end coverage issues vs Bama...and kick-off return problems...and on-side kick difficulties. Other than that....not too shabby!
