Dabo Doubters

Oct 25, 2013, 4:26 PM

I am so tired of the football coaching experts in here. How many of you have coached or been offered a head coaching job at a major football program? In my opinion, Dabo has raised the level of recruiting and coaching that we haven't seen since Danny Ford. Give it a rest Dabo haters.

Easy with that great word. He's doing a "good" job. He won't be "great" until he wins 10 or more in a season, AND BEATS THE CHICKENS CONSISTENTLY.

The Clemson family is so fortunate to have this fine Christian gentleman and role model to be the face of its football program.

Re: Dabo Doubters

Oct 25, 2013, 5:07 PM

While he may have raised the level of recruiting,he has not been able to beat either FSU,or USC consistently.
Year in,and year out ,these two programs
are far and above the best two we face.
UGA was a top 10 program when we beat them. But we don't play them every year. Now they are not in the top 25.
USC,at around 21 ,could drop out if they lose to Missouri.
Last year,Clemson did not have a quality win against a top 25 program.IMO,LSU does not count as that was a Bowl game, not a regular season win.
So it's not a question of doubt, but of having only a good team, but not an elite team.
Win out, maybe get a BCS Bowl bid,and win it,I think you will see a drop in those doubters.
Lose to S.C.again ,and I think you have to ask what is needed to make us a great team.

The "Good Guy" argument ...

Oct 25, 2013, 5:33 PM

We did not hire Dabo or the Tommys because they are/were Good Guys and Christians.

Yes, it's nice that they are, but we hired them to win.

And that means beating the rival and no embarrassing losses.

Re: The "Good Guy" argument ... I have been wondering

Oct 25, 2013, 5:38 PM

how all this plays with Rad. He didnt hire him and AD's usually want their own guy coaching. Stubbing ones toe on the biggest weekend in many a year probably isnt the best thing for a coach to do. I suspect the fall out has been pretty intense given the way the game unfolded

I said he wasnt exactly helping himself with a guy who has zero ownership in him having the job. time will tell but last weekend cant be very good with the AD who is trying to raise funds and talking up how important football is.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's just crazy talk right there.

"Dabo crushed my soul." --- Classof09

uga was a top-5 team, until the injury bug hit them. they

Oct 26, 2013, 8:08 AM [ in reply to Re: Dabo Doubters ]

are only a shell of their former selves. where they are right now is a direct result of those injuries. to compare them to the team we beat to open the season with is crazy, anyone who knows football knows that. we have a top 5 win, regardless where they are right now.

Oct 25, 2013, 7:51 PM

we can start talking about how great Dabo is. Until then you will be better off sitting quietly.

Dabo's Job is Safe as long as he stays at the 3 game or less

Oct 25, 2013, 8:11 PM

losing mark. No way would I want him replaced if he keeps us this competitive

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For those hung up on the fact that he can't beat USuC...

Oct 25, 2013, 11:37 PM

It's not like Dabo inherited this team while USuC is fielding the best team they've ever had in 100+ years....oh wait, he did.

Amazing that small fact seems to elude so many on here...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How did Dabo inherit this team? He and the other coaches

Oct 25, 2013, 11:46 PM

have recruited and built it.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up
