Climate Change

Humans did not create the Earth, and humans cannot destroy it, no matter how hard we might try.

Mother Nature will always do as she wishes in spite of us

Spending trillions of dollars in an effort to freeze mother nature in her tracks is pointless and wasteful. We certainly need to take good care of our home, but we fear not destroying it, we're just not that capable, and it is pretty arrogant to think we have that malicious power in our hands. We don't.

By-and-large climate change is nothing but a huge political money grab, redistributing your wealth to cunning politicians, and the people they think deserves it more than you do. Democrats only believe greed is when you want to keep money you have earned, but it not greedy when they taxed your earnings to buy votes.

Umm fail. Humans can destroy Earth where it is uninhabitable for the human species.

to the climate if we simultaneously detonated 2,000 nuclear bombs?

How would that impact the climate? Do you think that might impact Mother Nature a little bit?

Humans can do an AWFUL LOT to impact the climate. We already are impacting it, whether people will admit it or not.

I don’t really give a crap what happens to the climate if 2000 nuclear bombs are simultaneously detonated. Why? Because we’re all dead anyway!!

is the idea that Mother Nature can't be greatly affected by human activity. We have a very large impact on the climate already, and it could be even moreso if we wanted it to be.

It would be man ruining the environment and making it uninhabitable is his point, even if a person survived the missiles.

If and when we drop 2000 nuclear bombs I will gladly admit the resulting climate change was man made.

Is it really your argument that humans cannot make the planet uninhabitable?

2

Because that is a patently absurd notion.

Now, I do think there is a valid discussion as to the efficacy and underlying motivation of some of the global legislation aimed at climate change, but that is an altogether different discussion than simply claiming it doesn't exist.

These boomers just don't care because they know they'll be dead before it really hits the fan. Worst generation in American history. They were handed everything and turned it to sh*t out of pure selfishness. Congrats on leaving the world a worse place than you found it. History won't look kindly on you.

No, not all of you. Boomers in general did have it pretty good in a lot of ways, though. College was something you could pay for with a summer job. Homes were smaller, but much more affordable. Wages were higher and we hadn't sent most of the manufacturing jobs overseas yet. Regular folks could support a family on one income.

Exactly. The only debates should be where money is spent, or if we do anything at all about it, what our approach is. We have to be careful it doesn't turn into some scam or something that isn't practical for the working Joe.

....if you believe God will simply stop us from destroying the Earth. It seems that, instead of relying on decades of rigorous scientific research, you’re opting for divine intervention as an excuse.

Remember when centers of scholarship—like ancient Persia—were the world’s academic powerhouses until dogmatic zeal quashed innovation? It’s a bit like watching history repeat itself here in the US. Just take a look at those Taliban trucks with their flags; they’re starting to look a lot like the MAGA trucks, blending nationalism with a faith-based denial of reality.
