He can go pro after this year he is 3 years removed from HS. He spent a year at prep school.

You really should be careful calling someone an idiot

Dec 13, 2012, 6:20 PM

when you don't know what you're talking about.

The rule is 3 years removed from high school. Prep school doesn't count. So yes, he could declare this year if he so chooses. You can look up the rule if you like, but I know what I just posted is correct.

You are right that it is 3 years removed from HS

Dec 13, 2012, 6:48 PM

But I remember when Larry Fitzgerald did this (spent only 2 years at Pitt before the NFL), he had to petition the NFL for a waiver as he had spent a year at a military school after leaving his high school.

I wonder if there is a hard and fast rule for how to consider prep schools? One would think it would depend on when they are considered to have graduated, but I'm not sure how that's calculated.

I think prep school can be included in the calculation IF

Dec 13, 2012, 6:54 PM

the prospect transferred to the prep school prior to graduating hs. In other words, if the prep school was attended in place of one or more of the hs years.

It wasn't in this instance and he would be considered 3 years past high school and could be eligible for the draft this year.

Ok then..

Dec 13, 2012, 6:09 PM

does the fact he play 1 year in JUOC play a factor in
him being able to?

And, where did the ppl online hear it?

I saw people on here yesterday arguing about whether he was eligible for the NFL draft but I never saw where he said he was contemplating it. Sounds to me like he just has to make up his mind if he wants to go to study hall or not.

Dec 13, 2012, 6:29 PM

I think it's all speculation because he was suspended from the bowl game and is technically eligible to enter the NFL draft !! I haven't seen any link or anything except what has been posted on this board !!

Dec 13, 2012, 6:10 PM

Sorry, but he went to prep school for one year before coming to Clemson. He is three years removed from HS and can enter the draft if he so desires.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

does prep school not count as High School

Dec 13, 2012, 6:15 PM

after all don't they go there to increase their HS GPA?

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

See my post above.***

He is three years removed from highschool , so he is eligible , also Ryan Bartow stated his contacts suggest it is a big possibility that he does enter the draft.
