SO, still thinking Coots football made mistake leaving ACC for seC..

Apr 12, 2017, 3:14 PM

Except for $ they've piled up to build things on Fair Grounds.

Saying, the way they always put down the ACC (but proudly displaying the ONE ACC Banner ever won in football)..

They could have umpteen ACC trophies in the near-empty trophy room by now and probably would have pushed Clemson out of their fair share of league championship wins.

Fair share of ACC Championships??

Apr 12, 2017, 3:56 PM

Uhhhh no! If you suck you suck no matter where you play

They would have contended for ACC championships in

1979, 1984, 1987, and maybe a couple of times 2009 to 2013.

Nah...they would be a perennial doormat in the ACC too...

Apr 12, 2017, 4:04 PM

Just like the ACC, the one uncharacteristic $EC division title, which was won at a time when the league was a bad as it had been in forty years, does not make one a football powerhouse.

Re: Who would they beat right now? Weak Florist? Dook?

Apr 12, 2017, 4:08 PM

That's about it IMO, just the usual perennial doormats.

If I look at the Coastal, I don't see them beating anyone but Duke right now.

Looking at the Atlantic, they might beat Wake. Might.

Screw Calford.

They'd likely beat Wake and Virginia...

Apr 12, 2017, 4:17 PM

Teams like Duke, Cuse, and BC would be toss-up games for them at best.

They would be underdogs to teams like Virginia Tech, Pitt, NC State, UNC, Georgia Tech and Miami

They would absolutely lose to teams like FSU, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Clemson.

I know they'd disagree but then again, they are self-absorbed, ignorant and deluded.

Oddly enough I think Dino Babers' offense is a really bad matchup for the coots....they would lose badly to Cuse.

Screw Calford.

The Cuse offense is certainly better than the $CU offense...

Apr 12, 2017, 4:43 PM

but both teams have pathetically poor defenses.

Re: SO, still thinking Coots football made mistake leaving ACC for seC..

I've lived in the Midlands for almost forty years and having actually takes to Mike McGee in the 1990s about Usuck and rejoining the ACC, I can tell posters that USCe simply could not afford the fees involved to return. There was genuine interest from both sides, but matters never worked out.

As for a record of achievement in the ACC versus the SEC, I honestly believe Usuck could have competed under Holtz and certainly under the OBC, but with FSU, Ga. Tech, Va. Tech and Clemson their record would be good, but not great except for the Spurrier years. Currently USuck could compete with BC, UVA., Wake, Syracuse, Ga. Tech and Duke. Every other program would challenge them. The NCST opening contest will be a measuring stick for comparison.

The SEC has provided funds to upgrade facilities and their overall program, but they still have ground to make up football wise after how OBC left the program and Muscrap faces real difficulties ahead.

Go Tigers!

Keep in mind that the SEC Least division is weaker than the Atlantic or Coastal divisions. They would just suck in the ACC like they do now. Leave 'em in the SEC. They deserve each other.

How do you come up with some of this stuff??
