Both were defensive players and Florida had a very well coached defense.

much worse. And yes, the talent level of the defense will be down at South Carolina. Not just now, that much is obvious, but even when he gets his own recruits in, it will still pale in comparison to what Florida had and will continue to have.

Only time will tell. It's just pretty awful logic to argue he can't coach defense.

He's an awful developer of talent . He made no player better that he coached at Florida . Some players like Hargreaves were NFL talent the days they set foot on a college campus , not unlike a Sammy Watkins. No , Mishchance is a coat tail rider . However , at UofSuC he will find that those coat tails are now just tattered and worn pockets , hanging out of a torn coat .

did fine recruiting, coaching, and developing players on that side of the ball. The problem is that his offenses were horrible, they had absolutely no play makers on that side of the ball despite clearly having access to plenty at Florida, and he also showed no signs that he could actually hack it as a head coach.

Ellis Johnson was a good coach and he failed pretty bad there. I think they have bigger issues.

He might can coach defense, but he can't coach tackling. Ask Leonard Fournette. Should have got his two o-linemen from Florida who tackled each other to teach them.
He's always had the luxury of being at a program with a reputation, where kids already have their mind made up for a while they want to go. Texas, Florida, Auburn, all places where kids want to go.
Now, he is on the complete opposite end of that.
It's naive to believe that he can't coach, you don't get to that level by luck. But after what happened at Florida and getting ran out of town before the season was over, seeing how much the Auburn defense allowed running backs to slash them and play close games with the likes of Kentucky and Jacksonville State, it's unrealistic to expect anything different from Scar.

When Muschump has already been proven as a failure as head coach at a program that is light years better than SCU.
Oh yeah, your team went 3-9 with Mitch, Orth, and Nunez. Won't fare any better with McIlshouldhavewenttotgebaseballdraft or the 29 year old freshman you meth heads get in August

^^^I would argue that Boom hasn't coached the D very well in years. IMO, he almost single-handily destroyed the D at Texas before leaving. Their D hasn't recovered yet. He did NOTHING at Auburn last year, as their D sucked it. I don't get the heaps of praise that continues to be heaped on his D coaching abilities. I think his coaching sucks and is average on a good day - with GREAT recruits (UF and AU and Texas). No - we're going to see a slide of epic proportions in the next 3-4 years, if he lasts that long at USUC. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch though. That's what happens when you sell your souls to the Devil.

Coach Boom can coach him some defense. Usually.
He did not look very good at Auburn last year. He's a pressure guy but he's very reliant upon getting pressure with his front 4 and he had problems there at the Barn last year since Mont Adams and Carl Lawson were his only real players and both missed extended time.
Auburn had a wealth of riches compared to what he's walking into with South Carolina. Other than Skai Moore, who will be coming off major offseason shoulder surgery, he won't have a single player who's likely to make the NFL in his front 7, and his front 4 are...dismal. An Upstate high school coach I know told me with a straight face that Wofford literally had better athletes in their front 4 than Carolina did, and App State's front 4 was significantly better. Which is as slamming an indictment on the job Whammy and Co. did their last few years as I've ever heard. Once Brad Lawing went to FSU, South Carolina's DL recruiting dropped off a cliff.
Offense, Carolina will be as good as whoever he hires...and whatever talent he's got. That ain't auspicious either. OG Zack Bailey is the only guy they've got on O right now who would likely start or even be on the 2-deep on Clemson's offense.
If he gets that team to .500, he's done a masterful coaching job. They look, on paper, worse than the 3-9 team they were last year.

I'm confused by your comments quozzel. Who's saying we will have a great defense next year?
While we are terrible, wofford having better athletes at DL is going too far.

uh cootof09, your new coach told a coach of another team, no not clemson, that he inherited the worst group of talent he has ever been around and hopes they actually are able to win a game or 2. dont really care if you believe that or not. it was said.
