With this team being termed “the best ever”, deep runs in the ACCT and NCAAT were expected.
We missed the first expectation, and it’s very disappointing.
Hope we make up for it in the NCAAT, otherwise this season will not show progress and won’t live up to expectations. Are we all in agreement about that?

If you have followed Clemson basketball for any length of time, last night was par for the course. I really hoped this team would be the one that finally won Clemson’s first ACC tournament, but the tournament snake bit once again!

Not totally at all. 27 wins is huge no matter what ! Basketball is not as preictable as football. 15 seeds beating 2 happens sometimes it's just basketball. We will probably be a 4 vs 13 or 5 vs 12 so anything is possible and will not destroy 27 wins. Last night was totally unacceptable officiating really all night long. People were getting mauled under the basket and touch fouls called on the perimeter. No excuse for such pathetic officiating and there should be something done about it.

A first year head coach who took over a team after its next to worst season in over 100 years of basketball (one year removed from their worst and arguably the worst team in major conference basketball history) eliminated our 15th year, best Clemson coach ever with the best Clemson basketball team ever from our best chance ever at winning an ACC Title. Someone used the term “poverty mentality” on this board recently. Spinning this as anything but a disappointment is peak poverty mentality.

Yes. The played a very physical brand on basketball. Something we’ve been happy to ourselves when it played to our advantage. The officiating style (besides the ridiculous no-calls) played to the advantage of the more physical team. Again, something we’ve benefitted from most of the season.

It wasn't the second round. That was Wednesday. The loss yesterday was the semifinals. Know your Tourney info, buddy...

Just because you're the best team doesn't mean you always win, anybody who watches sports knows that. Anybody who watched this team knows the effect that the Dillon Hunter injury has on this team. It's 's not an excuse it's a fact, the people behind Dillon Hunter are not nearly as polished as he is, that's going to hurt, and that doesn't diminish from the season results.

Maybe instead of saying deep run, you should say making/winning the final. By definition, we went deep in the tournament.

3rd in regular season, 3rd in tournament.
4-7 in preseason expected finish. That equals over expectation, but don’t let facts get in the way of your negative narrative and anti-BB sentiment.

You can cite preseason media expectations all you want, but as the season progressed the team was termed “the best ever” by several people on here. Regardless if its the best ever or not, the postseason expectations were reset based on the real season.
We have not met those expectations in the ACCT. Now if we drop out of the NCAAT early and not meet expectations based on the actual season, are you still going to say “yeah but preseason expectations..”?

No, it’s basketball. But we will have all offseason to mull it over and Brownell will be sitting on a big fat raise if he doesn’t go to the Hoosiers (I don’t think he will) that will give all the TNetters that don’t like him a massive case of heartburn regardless of did not meet, meets, or exceeds on his annual review.

Fully healthy yes this time should have made the finals but losing a player like Dillon Hunter really hurts. We don't have the depth that some of these other teams do to absorb that kind of loss. Fully healthy yes this team can meet anybody but when you lose your starting point guard that really really hurts. I'm not making excuses I'm just as disappointed as everybody else, but I understand that not every team has a five-star backup sitting on the bench.

Don’t give up on this team. Certainly, it was disappointing not to win the ACCT once again, but our guys showed a lot of fight to have a chance to win that game last night.
We went cold for a long stretch that ultimately cost us the game. and still could have won at the end. That kind of fight could serve us well in the NCAAT. We should be playing a 12 or 13 seed in the first round.
No, I don’t think this is the best team ever. I’ve watched a lot of Clemson basketball in 72 years. But we are good enough to make a run .

Is having 3 of 18 teams ranked acceptable to you? You know, since the league expanded and all. That makes it okay to have less teams ranked than the old ACC? Please try to explain yourself without the immaturity or vitriol.
Maybe you should apply more energy into being a civil adult instead of a bitter child? I’m only trying to help you buddy.

Nobody ever said you said it was good, okay, or acceptable. This is the same question you’ve been asked at least a dozen times, but you just can’t answer. Why? In a thread about the ACC only having 3 of 18 teams ranked, you said, paraphrased, “yeah but it’s a watered down ACC”.
If that’s not an attempt to minimize the suck of 3 of 18, then what is it Pat?
Do you think it’s acceptable for the ACC to only have 3 of 18 teams ranked, because it’s watered down?
Please try really, really hard, Pat. Answer the question and not a child. You can do it!

What’s wrong with you, Pat? Seriously, did the wife leave you, are you broke, and you medically ill? What is it that makes you unable to control yourself and act like a mature adult?
I’ll ask yet again, do you think having 3 of 18 ACC teams ranked is acceptable, because the league is bigger now? Because that’s clearly what your post suggests. So are you going to try, Pat? Try really, really hard to just at least pretend you’re a well-adjusted adult? All you have to do is look at the attached reference and explain what you meant if it wasn’t meant to be a justification for so few teams being ranked.

Losing is always disappointing, but this wasn't a big upset or anything like that. We were a 1pt favorite going into so we lost a toss up game.
We're gonna have to play better than we have been recently to make another Sweet 16 or Elite 8 run, but if you're expectations for this team were Final Four or bust I think you just got out over your skis.

We played poorly in both ACC tournament games. Ask yourself why? I have no problem with continuing with Brad but he has a ceiling much like Wes did as our football DC and like T Bowden did in football. Great person and an excellent coach but his motivational skills and confidence skills and fighter skills are his shortcomings. People on this board a few years back tried to get the ADM to get Kelsey when he was at Winthrop. However, the ADM is attached to the hip with Brad. He represents the University well and will keep you average. However, he lacks the it factor that Dabo has in dealing with his team. How did we let SC beat us. Being too tight will not allow you in big moments to play your best.

Yes , he is good at using the portal but not a good game day coach. Kelsey mentioned before the game that he expected a physical type slugfest and had his teamready for it . Brad just looked stunned like a deer in the headlights . He has zero feel for using Timeouts to help His team or making in game adjustments.
