for a small farm with a house, barn and a workshop. Oh, I'd need three migrant workers who don't mind living in a barn to go with that.

I tried to rent one of those once. Very high rents surprisingly for people that don't imagine trailer parks being expensive. They are expensive and very expensive for the lease if you own the trailer. I knew that property well. That said, I rented a 1br on PCH without washer or dryer, and this was 1997 and it was 1500 per month. Those aren't rich people generally though. They are above middle class though.

There was a washer and dryer, but all twelve 1br units shared it.

Not poor there though. That was an expensive spot and very competitive to get one and thought of as really cool to live there. It was badazz to get one. There used to be a bunch of those type places from Oxnard to San Diego when I was growing up, so they are very nostalgic. That was one of the last few that exist.

ash by fire - what are the odds that something else gets built on that chunk of prime real estate that ain't a bunch of trailer tenements?? I'm betting some developer ends up getting their hands on that chunk of land and turns it into something a lot different (and much more expensive) than what was there pre-fire...

He had some special lease, because for some reason he was the only one allowed to put his in that parking lot. Riggs had a private one on the beach as well.
