Smart path moving forward for contenders of 12 team CFP: Lie lie lie

The FSU situation (I.e., being excluded from the CFP, despite being an undefeated Conference Champ -and- possessing quality wins that are comparable to TX -and- having no worse close-score-win games against weak opponents than one loss conference champ TX) should teach all potential future contenders for the 12 team CFP to flat out lie about the health prognosis of any injured star(s) for being able to play in the playoff games.

Based on the comments that FSU was excluded from the 2923 CFP in significant part because Jordan Travis was hurt and out for the rest of the year, it would have served FSU much better if they were ambiguous about J.Travis’ prospects of healing in time to participate in post season games.

What if FSU had simply reported that Travis was going to be out for FL and Louisville games, but they hoped that he would be ready to go in the post season? I suspect that this scenario would have tilted the a vote or two among selection committee members to include FSU and to exclude TX or Bama.

(***). What is the risk of announcing a potentially healthy prognosis for an injured star player? A ‘naughty boy’ memo from the NCAA? I’d take that chance if I were the AD of a school that had the head coach locked down as with respect to his contract situation.

Deshaun Watson tore his ACL his FR year vs GA Tech in 2014. No one thought he’d play again that season. Surprise! He played against S.Carilina with his leg taped and bandaged up like The Mummy, and then ended S.Carolina’s 5 game win streak against us.

There is no benefit to any team in contention for a playoff spot into making any announcement about a season ending injury for any key player(s). None.

Did you see the Jordan Travis injury in real time?

I'm thinking you didn't.

Think Joe Theismann.

Yes sir, I'm with you. Seems like it would make sense to exaggerate the healing time of an injury, so to speak

There is no reason to publish anything. Status is TBD......

We had a situation some years back with injured QB and injured back up that was not made public.

Willie Korn remembers....

This might as well go for ALL injuries at this point. I can see all teams converting to a day by day status for any injury the teams have the last half of the season. ####, they may go as far as having players pretend to start only to reinjure themselves after 3 snaps to cover any untruths. This committee sucks coot nutz.

They can fake start to grab their Conference's 6 million right? It's like the flipside of throwing a fight. When you throw a fight you are ok but fake defeat for a payout. When you fake being healthy to show up to then bow out and get paid is possible after today.
