the way he does some things...YES....does he need to be fired ....NO...give him time to change, if he doesn't then lets have a conversation.....but stop wasting time on "Fire Dabo" ...
This offseason will be very telling on which way this program will go.

Agree 110%. It’s a crazy world of chaos in CF right now. The HC’s that recover doing it the right way and have a plan for sustainable success will need patient supportive fans while the HC navigates through the minefield of college chaos.
I have confidence in a HC with Dabo’s resume can get the job done. 👍

For the 10,000th time, we haven’t used the portal to replace transfers because nobody has been transferring. The only times teams are using the portal is to replace transfers going out, and it’s a wild misnomer to suggest the portal is magically transforming anyone. It hasn’t.
And when you hear a portal name during a game, it’s because he’s on the field because he has to be .. to replace someone who transferred out. Nobody is getting better or moving the needle due to their portal transfers, and if you want to cite Indiana they had to make a whole new team because of transfers. That improvement is on the coach, not some magic portal
Dabo always and used the best player. What are you even talking about?
We have one of the most robust NIL programs in the country and our guys are paid as well as most anyone. Again, you’re just spouting the negative narratives and they’re just not true.
The very most important thing we need is a solid QB. Cade has been filling that role for the last two weeks, and if he played like that all year then we’d be 5-1 or possibly 6-0.
If we had a defense last year, then we would have beat UL, USuC, and lilwym Texas to make a run in the playoffs.
Our defense is improving and as Allen settles in it will be a strength of the program.
Fix the QB. We’ve struggled at QB every year but one since Trevor, and that alone is why we were “only” 9th in wins since 2021 coming into this season.
None of that other stuff has been a reason. It just simply hasn’t.

The portal most certainly has helped teams - just go look at Alabama last NC and 2 of the top players (Jameson Williams and the LB) came from the portal. Without them they don't win. There are numerous other examples that apparently you are willfully ignoring. I wouldn't look into Indiana if I were you - they were an also-ran until the new coaching staff came in and used the portal to great results.

1) A new recruiting approach for high school and the transfer portal. A new recruiting coordinator.
2) Depth on Offense and Defense. Especially Offense and O-Line. (Rushing is 98th in country).
3) A focus on Special teams that has never existed.
(Clemson was so much more talented than the rest of the ACC, Tigers could opt out on ST.)
4) Based on Riley contract ending in 2025, a new OC is needed. Some new position coaches.

You’re of the opinion we should be kicking starters off the team to replace them with unknown portal guys? Because otherwise transfer guys aren’t moving from one team to another to be depth. We haven’t had any openings because we’ve lost exactly one starter and to the portal since its inception.
Depth from the portal? What good players are moving to be depth? Nobody worth a flip.
Special teams have never cost us a a game. Special teams are fine.
Why would we need an OC?? That’s funny man. When the QB executes the offense works great. It’s was 11th last year when the QB played well.
I’m sorry my man, but you’ve swung and missed on all of that. Now if it has cost a game ever. We haven’t had a good QB except for one season since Trevor left, and that was a season when the defense was the worst in Dabo’s tenure.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. Dabo is is easily the best coach for Clemson until HE decides to leave. I also believe he, of all people, is fully aware that some things will need to change.

that Clemson will go back in their hibernation hole for about 20 years (6-6 to 8-5 seasons) until they get another generational coach. Think we'll probably go through about 3 other coaches and then will stumble upon another good one and be relevant again. Seems that's the way the trend goes here at Clemson. Whenever you run off the legend it takes about 20 years for that lot of crazy decision makers/boosters to exit stage left and allow a new breed with less biases to take over the reins.
We don't have the resources and the tV market share that some of the other elite's do. WE don't play in the SEC or the Big10 to offset that money disparity. Dabo is alot of our marketing and PR. He gets us in the door in ALOT of ways. We're not preseason top 5 this year without Dabo's name being attached. He didn't ask for that hype, he was afforded that hype because of his past results. You might think "who cares"... but that kinda respect goes a long way for Clemson. Once he's gone.. thats probably gone and would have to be built back up...so my guess is 20 years.

years of mediocrity) Miami has been irrelevant for about 20 years until now with NIL emergence. All those either kicked the one who brung em either to the curb or they left on their own.
I'm not saying its impossible to not skip a beat but to assume it would not is based on a hope and a prayer and history usually bears that out. If we had Texas money, OSU money, or Notre Dame money I'd probably be more apt to your point of view. But right now we are in a second tier conference with second tier advantages compared to the other perennial elites. .

Garbage scare tactic take. On the day we have to
replace CDS, which is hopefully in the far away future, with the facilities and salary availability we have we could go after most coaches outside of guys coaching at top money schools OSU, Mich, UGA, Bama, Texas, etc.
CDS is one of the top paid guys in the country, there’s not many that would turn down that salary level when it comes time to replace him

With good QB play I think we beat LSU, GT, and Syracuse. If we're 6-0 right now or even 5-1 whats that ranking looking like? Would we be national championship level? That'd be a stretch but not impossible with good QB play. Confidence on offense would inspire the WRs and take pressure off the defense.
We wouldn't be a perfect team by any stretch but you don't have to be perfect these days. There is alot of parity in college football in the current model. No real dominant team out there this year. You just gotta have a pulse and be there in the end.

The program has been declining since it's peak 6 years ago. I think folks have been more than patient with Dabo. It's time for those changes you are speaking of to start happening.
