Exactly, but be sure that I don't have any tears for him, he caused me to have more than enough tears waisted from watching his defense play, and if it hadn't been for all the talented players that BV left behind, there would have been a lot more tears than there was from watching his defenses play!!!

With Venables he has learned so much about coaching LB and tech. Uhmm how did he not learn all that stuff coaching under Venables for what 7 years already at Clemson? I doubt BV has changed much with how he coaches LB’s. I guess he had to say something

Recall he wasn’t in the LB room when BV coached at Clemson. He got the LB coaching job when BV left and the position coach was vacated. Wes was given that role as well as DC. Wes was in way over his head. It was a bad experiment.

Defaulting to “Dabo has won two national championships” is a weird flex. No one is doubting Dabo’s success as our coach. No one trying to take that away from him.

However, making what was one of the worst and most illogical coordinator hires in power 5 football history is also part of his resume. Making arrogant comments like “I have never failed at anything in my life” seem even dumber in light of that.

Using one hire and extrapolating to "failure" is also nonsensical. Having hired hundreds of people throughout my career, some worked out better than others. Sometimes there were those that I thought would be good that turned out to be great. Sometimes there were those I thought would be great turned out to be duds. But using any isolated example as a testimony of my career is ridiculous. All careers have moments of highs and lows, and simply because of a low, does not mean one has "failed" in their job or career. Dabo's heat of the moment comment was about failure on the large scale; something he set out to do, not each and every decision along the way. It is undeniable, by ANY REASONABLE measure, he has succeeded as a college football coach.

Hiring Wes was an epic fail by Dabo and irresponsible . Wes had never even played football yet Dabo made him the defensive coordinator ?? That hire set us back years . There is no defending this failure in judgement by Dabo .

Judge Keller®

It's not a weird flex. It's literally the highest level of achievement for a football team. It would be a weird flex for SC to talk about their national championship winning coach when Spurrier and Holtz were there.

When Dabo was hired, he said in his press conference that he had never failed at anything in his life. He then went on to win two national championships. The program is still one of the best in the country so even if it has declined some from its peak, it's still a long way from being failure. To say that one or even multiple mistakes makes him a failure as a coach makes you a troll or an idiot.

I have watched the JK/Brownell posts from afar as a longtime Tnetter, and I agree that Brownell hate has been unwarranted. That, however, doesn't mean that what you do in posts like this isn't trolling. It is and it's quite hurtful to your cause. But, no amount of me or anyone else saying it will change you.

Yes but, what have we won since 2018. I personally don't have anything heavy against Dabo, and I don't know anybody that I would rather have as our HC more than Dabo, but Dabo hasn't been mistake free with some of the judgements he's made sense 2019. We can love Dabo bc of the type of man that he is, and most of believe that he's a good guy that is good for Clemson but he was hired to be the best FB HC that he can possibly be, but some of his hires were questionable for Dabo after losing Brent Venables, Tony Elliott, and Jeff Scott...

We have won the conference four out of six years.

We have been to the playoffs three out of six years.

It is remarkable that we have fans who ask what we have won since our last national championship. Five teams out of 134 have won it since we last won it. Five. You guys do know that a lot of other programs are trying really hard, with as good or better resources, to win it all, right? Some of you act like it’s Clemson’s Championship unless Dabo doesn’t do things competently and throws it away.

There is no doubt in my mind he knows X and O football. He knows how to develop a game plan.

I also think he knows how to communicate that game plan to the assistant coaches and to the players.

But, someone told me years ago, "All coaches demand respect. Successful coaches command respect."

I don't know how to explain it. But, I've seen it over and over again. There are some coaches that people just seem to have respect. They don't have to contnually be trying to earn respect. They have earned it and everybody just recognized there is "soemthing different" about that guy.

I don't think Wes ever grew into the guy who COMMANDED respect.
