In the past week both the Commissioners of the Big 12 and SEC have gone public stating their conference's expansions are over, being satisfied with 16 teams.
Landing spots are getting thin.

And it took less time for each level of satisfaction to wear off than the last time.

With due respect to Kirk Herbstreit, I suspect things are pretty much set through the 2024 season. Doesn't mean announcements won't be made during 2024.
